Happy Saturday Morning! It's a great day cuz it is S A T U R D A Y!!!!!!!

Gonna go to one of my Uncle's birthday parties later today. Haven't seen everyone since my daughter's graduation in May. So kinda excited about that.

Jan - love the post of the room service snacks. That looks absolutely yummy.

Good Morning my Friends and Cruisin' Buddies!

I'm Back - and hopefully I will keep my head up from here on out! Wow, Iknow I've been gone too long when there are new folks that I haven't met yet. HELLO TO EVERYONE I HAVEN'T MET YET!

Thanks to everyone for all of your prayers and happy thoughts. They have really truly helped and made me feel like I have the best support system around! You guys are all the very best!

Picked up Dustin from camp last night! Oh so good to see him. He has been working at a boy scout summer camp in Maryland as a CIT (counselor-in-training). He loved it and it kept him away from the chaos that is my life right now. Today he is at the jersey shore with his dad, and then home with me after work and we'll have dinner and a great evening. Tomorrow he really wants to sleep IN. Its been a lot of hard work but he was happy and that's all that matters! Now he'll be home for this week - and then he has to go back to the camp to help with "shut down" on Sunday and Monday - and then home for the rest of that week before the troop leaves for their High Adventure trip to Minnesota and Canada for canoeing! They leave on Aug 21 and come back on Sept 3. They are also going to go to SD and the Badlands and Mt. Rushmore! They are doing the Flag Retreat for the evening show the day they will be there - that is so cool!! I hope I get lots of pictures.

And to make things really fun, my friends are coming in from England!! Cathy is going to stay with me while Bruce goes on the canoeing adventure with the troop! I'm so excited about them coming.

So hopefully I will get to know everyone new and keep in touch with all of my friends from now on - keep pushing me along - I appreciate it (really!!).
Love to all -

Hi Sue...good to see you again. You take care.:flower3: We're here for you!!!!

The members cruise is only 42 days away. Going to be lots of fun!!!!!

Okay, so today DH and I decided to do something fun for once and not work around the house. Has anyone seen on the Food Channel the BBQ Championship competitions? Well I read about the 2011 BBQ Battle of the Brethren taking place a couple towns over, so we decided to go. DH was very excited, as every time he sees one on TV says "wish they'd have something like that locally". Well.......it's NOTHING like on TV. No one was cooking much of anything. There was one stand open where you could buy some BBQ, so you can imagine how long that line was. DH thought the food was okay. I didn't think my chicken was completely cooked, so didn't eat it. While we were standing on the 30 min. line to get the food a guy two in front of us was telling the couple right in front of us that this was one where the food was only tasted by the Judges, not the public. He went on to say that there was one in NYC in mid to late June every year that was the one to go to.

Hit the italian sausage stand on the way out.

What a disappointment, other than spending the day with DH and not working!

Well tomorrow brings the ride to and from CT to visit my mother.

Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

Well, at least you tried it....nothing ventured nothing gained. Don't be too disappointed, There are so many different techiques and no two BBQ's taste alike. I tried one that was so good according to food channel in KC, Boy was I disappointed... Tasted like pure vineger. :scared1:

Hi Sue!!!! So glad you are back. Hope everything is working out for the best for you.

Sounds like Dustin has had a fun summer so far. I can't believe he is going on such a scouting adventure starting the 21st of August. Brooke starts school on the 18th of August here. :scared1: Which seems just too soon to me. But his trip sounds awesome. I have never been to Mt Rushmore and sure hope to get there some day. It is only a days drive from here. At least that is what I'm told. Tell him to have an awesome time and enjoy every minute.

So are you getting excited for your upcoming cruise? You will need to relax and just let yourself go on this trip. And remember to sing Margaritaville as you pass by the pavilion and remember, we will be there with ya in March to sing it all together again! :woohoo:

Hope to hear from you again soon! :flower3:

I think the most disappointing part was that no one was frantically cooking and working towards a deadline.

QuiltTeddy - we went to a BBQ thing earlier this summer too. We got there kinda late and weren't able to participate like we would have liked. We got there like at a break in all the fun. Walked around for a bit but nothing much was going on. So, we left. Maybe next time.

Oh, and I am a Food Network Junkie. Love to watch that channel. In fact it is on right now with Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives! Love that Guy. He is so fun. :goodvibes

That's the way we felt. However, the judging was set for 3 pm. We were there and it was 2:30 and no one was doing any cooking. Very strange, to say the least. :confused3

We'll try to remember next year about the one in NYC and perhaps go in for the day.

OMG! Me too!!

He was sure taking HUGE bites of those "burgers"....don't you think? :rotfl:

Nope. Have never seen that show. I think my girls have. But I haven't.

It used to be on Food channel, but it was moved to Travel channel. I watch it when there's nothing else on, or Ironchef is on (I can't stand Ironchef).

Did you just see that girl is gonna eat 21 burgers for her 21st birthday. :confused3 No way. That is just too much. Hope she can do it.

I don't think I could eat one of those. They looked huge. Be interesting to see her attempt it. (Kind of like watching Man v. Food with some of the challenges he attempts.)

My computer is being so slow tonight. Ughhhhh.

I enjoy Iron Chef. But only on occasion.

I think the board is slow.

Everyone is going to laugh when they see what we were discussing.
