Gary- I have been laying out in the sun like you said, but I am not tanning, were you only kidding?

Glad everyone has survived "The Blizzard"! We are in for 3 more storms in the next week, hopefully they are gone before I fly out. I am not missing my flight because of snow, I will plow the airport out myself!

Good morning everyone! Have to go into work for a while today to help my boss finish up the year end books especially with the day we lost for the snow day. Then I'm going out to dinner tonight with some friends from high school. Mark's spending the day just resting up.

Dave I bet you are getting really excited about the cruise. We have a friend who was on the Maiden Voyage and she's been sharing lots of pictures.

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekends! Our snow event today turned into freezing rain...YUCK I shoveled the deck again and pulled snow off the front roof, over 3 ft deep. Time for an early bedtime. Looking forward to the Super Bowl tomorrow! Have a good night all!

Good Sunday Morning! Hope the weekend is going good for everyone. We woke up this morning to a furnace that is not working. Good thing we do have a gas fireplace that we are running to take the chill off. Will have to call in the morning to get it fixed. Yay!

Well, I'm losing my computer today cuz DH wants to do the taxes.

We woke up to more snow. We were supposed to get less than 1/2 and inch but there is more than that down and it is still snowing.

Chris - sorry to hear about the furnace. Been there done that.

I need to do our taxes today as I finally got access back to our accounts online notebook.

Oh Crhis sorry about your furnace. That it can be fixed right away.

Hello All!

Hope everyone is enjoying their weekend.

The Super Bowl festivities are underway for many of you out there so enjoy and have a great time. Enjoy and safe travels to all of you that are out and about this evening.

Flo - Lauren sold more cookies this weekend. I have not tallied up her sales from this weekend but we are slowly getting rid of them. Thank goodness when we do because they are sooooo tasty. I better hit the scale to make sure I have not strayed too far off course. But those darn cookies are just so good. And, you can not eat just one. It does not matter how hard you try. It just can not be done. And then you try to justify it by saying.....they are only available once during the whole year so it's okay to enjoy them now.


Chris - I hope you aren't too without the furnace. Hopefully that gas fireplace will be enough to keep you all warm.


Some of the snow pictures you and some DIS friends on another thread have posted are just amazing. I am so tired of winter, snow, ice, and just being cold. I think this year has reinforced my plan to move south. Not exactly sure where but boy am I ready. Not sure if the kids would agree but I think it is time to at least start browsing around and researching where I might like to go. I always said between Virginia and South Carolina but right now Virginia might not be far enough south.

Criteria:
Must be close enough to ocean that we could easily drive. Lived all my life within 1 1/4 - 1 3/4 hours drive to the beach - depending on which beach. My parents live in North Cape May- 6 blocks from the bay and about a 10 minute drive to the ocean. So, I can not imagine being farther than 2 hours from the ocean.

Must have a good school system but without corporal punishment - oh wait, I guess that rules out the southern states. Okay, not that I think my children would require it but it is just the principal of it.

Okay that might put me back to looking at Virginia. I think all the states below Va. have corporal punishment still on the books.

Well, I guess it's time to call it a night. The game is getting underway and I want to get the kids friends on their way out the door. My two need to get their things ready for school in the morning.

Good Morning Everyone!

Thanks for all the good wishes with the furnace. Luckily DH called his nephew who works for a heating company and he came over and looked at it. I guess the part that makes the furnace light just needed to be cleaned. Took him like 5 minutes. So we had heat back by noon. Thank goodness Josh lives so close. Like 2 miles away. Just hard to believe he is all grown up and fixing furnaces because he was the ringbearer in our wedding!

Mary and Flo - we got snow here yesterday too. But it as melting as fast as it was coming down. I just wish it would all melt and go away.

And all that melting made our driveway super slick. So slick that our oldest DD got her car stuck sideways trying to come up the drive. Bobby went down with our Gator to try and pull her up but that couldn't even get traction. They did get her car straightened out and they just parked it down at my Mom and Dad's place till later last night. Once everything froze back up he was able to drive her car back up the drive. Took him two times but he made it.

Dave, your ticker looks so good. 11 days till warmer weather, sunshine and NO FLIPPIN SNOW!!!!

And, yeah, were is Sue????? Hope all is well with her and her family. Maybe she has been to busy with Dustin and all his music rehearsals. Sure hope that's it.

Today it is supposed to be 30 degrees warmer in Anchorage, AK than here in Central Iowa. Our high is to be 5 with wind chills at -25. Just tooooooo cold.
