Happy Veterans Day and a great big thank you to all our vets and current service men and women.

But this is even better!! Thank you Mary.

You guys are really great for thinking about my son. He and his fellow US Army Corps of Engineer buddies thank you for your support. Although he is classified as a civilian, he wears the uniform and works side-by-side with his crew, and faces the same dangers with them every day they are all there. It would be fantastic if you all still want to send him something - even a note to say "hi". I will make sure I have his current address and then post it. He says although they are working 10-12 hour days every day, the nights get long and lonely. As he said in his last email - "if my being here is helping to move these projects along, then all of us can come home sooner, and that's why I feel I have to stay and finish what I have started."
We're very proud of him and every soldier every where around the world. I fly the American Flag proudly and post my yellow ribbon.

Cheers to my daddy - who was a WWII veteran!! Stopping by the cemetery later to make sure he has a new flag! :lovestruc

Moning everyone,

Mary, Thank you for your post...I loved it.

Sue, I still want his address, he is still over there doing the job. I want them all to come back safe and sound! I totaly respect him, what he is doing for me.:worship:

God Bless all the vets past and present.

Have a great day!

Thanks so much Dianne. I will check on his address.

Sue - I agree with Dianne - he's still serving over there and I'd love to send him something.

Well, I just downloaded a program to embroider almost any design.

Its just a trial progam for now. I have converted a few designs for now and will try and stich them later after swiming...Hope it works, If it does, I might just buy the program... I could have so much fun with it.:cool1:

Hi Chris,
Glad you are home safe and sound - although you'd probably still like to be a WDW. Can't wait to hear about your trip and see pictures!!!

Thank you so much for the kind words. I wish we were closer too. It means so very much to have good friends who will extend their hands and hearts when you need them the most - thank you. And please tell your boss I will keep her son in our prayers. :lovestruc

Hi Sue! Yes, it is so sad to leave but so good to be home. We had such cold weather this time it was a bummer. I mean it was nicer at home! :confused3 Go Figure. But if I was home I would have been sitting on the computer instead of walking around EPCOT, which is much better for me. Will try to get some pictures up this weekend. I have been so tired since we got home that I haven't been on the computer much.

And you are sure welcome. I will definitely tell my boss you will keep Mike in your prayers. She worries so and already has ulcers, literally. She will definitely appreciate it. :thumbsup2
Hiya everybody :wave2:

Just checking in and subscribing to this thread to keep an eye on things even though I'm not officially booked yet...

I am an alumnus of SSMC08 and just recently returned from a 7 night western on the Magic :cloud9:. My brother Frank and I are booked on the West Coast Repo cruise next April, bringing the Wonder from LA (my 1st trip to Disneyland :yay:) to Canada for those of you that will be traveling to Alaska. We are also currently booked on a 7 day eastern on the Magic next October.

Right now, my plan is to book this cruise while onboard the Wonder next April to take advantage of the discount and OBC. Sadly, it does not look like my brother will be able to join me due to work commitments (sorry, no Pirate Mass this cruise) :sad1: I'm thinking about booking an inside Virtual Porthole room just to see what it's like :confused3

Anyway, I hope you don't mind if I check in on this thread once in awhile to see what's going on. And hopefully, I'll be able to check in 'officially' next May.

Welcome aboard! Hope you will be able to join in the near future. This is just the best group of folks, EVER!
Good morning fellow cruisers

We sail in 71 weeks!

Getting closer! :rolleyes1

Good Morning everyonewell there will only be half of us at work today. It will be a really fun day. And quite.:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Well tried that new program for embroidering designs, it worked, but I think I may need to do some tweeking to get it to work right, did not have much time to work with it, Spent the evening at the Casino having a crab dinner with Mom. She has gotten really lonley, since baseball is done!:confused3

Good Morning Cruisin' Buddies!

Well, looks like it's going to be a nice one here! Sun is out and chilly now, but supposed to get up to the low to mid 60's.

It's a "mom" day day instead of yesterday. Had to go down to Maryland to close up the little beach house for the winter. So off to mom's in a little bit.

Dianne - I know, my mom is really bummed now that baseball is over, she really loves her Phillies. :thumbsup2 Did you have a nice dinner with her?

Not many plans for the weekend. Anybody have anything happening? :)

Good Friday Morning!

Dianne - sounds like you had fun with your Mom.

Sue - have fun with yours today.

Yesterday we took Becca over to Iowa State University to tour the college. What a great campus. Wish I could have gone there way back when. And when we got home she applied. Hope she gets accepted. She is a great student with a good GPA and has done well with with ACT/SAT's. The best thing is that ISU is over in Ames and is only about half hour to 45 minutes away from us. (Depends on who is driving :rolleyes1). I know she will be 18 on her next birthday, but I don't want her too far away to start. I know she is excited/scared all at the same time but she is going to enjoy it. Just have to get through her senior year at high school.

Gooooooooooooooooooooooooooood Morning fellow shipmates! (and you know who you are!)

TGIF!!!

I didn't post yesterday but I still greatly appreciate our Armed Forces personnel and their support staffs past, present and future.

May Dad served on a landing craft on D-day and was re-called for the Korean War.

He passed away July 4th. How's that for irony.

That is really a nice day to remember him on, Gary. Sorry he's gone. Lost my dad six years ago, but visited yesterday to make sure he had a new flag! He was in Germany during WWII, with an engineering bridge building battalion.

How exciting for Becca!! I remember those days - visiting college campus'. Now it seems like so long along. But what a wonderful time it will be for her. Nice that she will be close, but not too close. Hope she gets accepted!!! :thumbsup2
