March 2019 First or Second Week?

We are looking at going the first or second week next March 2019. With Mardi Gras being March 5th will it be busy or should I change it to the second week? How are the crowds then?

We are looking at going the first or second week next March 2019. With Mardi Gras being March 5th will it be busy or should I change it to the second week? How are the crowds then?

We always go that first weekend in March, BUT we have never dealt with Mardi Gras at that time. I can't imagine it would be super crazy, but I'm sure it will add some crowds. The only thing we haven't liked about that first weekend in March is there is a dance competition and the dance groups crowd the parks some because they travel in large packs. I would just expect crowds either way because the second week of March will have spring break crowds starting.

Mardi gras seems to get more and more crowded each year. We did not go for MG this year but my SIL did and she said it was possibly the most crowded trip she has done. They also have been several times during MG, thanksgiving, and summer.
