March 14 – 18 Wonder – Day 4 (Day at Sea)

It’s the day at sea. We had breakfast at Triton at 8:30 am. Since we were going to have Palo brunch at 10:00 am, we refrained from eating too much. Yet I still tried some of the Egg Benedict and it was quite good.

Our kids did not seem to enjoy the Oceaneer Club/Lab much. We were disappointed as some of the staff at the club were not very friendly and it seemed that all 6 kids were not really interested in the programs. We had to push them to go.

Before getting to Palo, we managed to buy some photo frames from the gifts store and all three families bought 2 6*8 frames, 1 large photo album and some other stuff.

Palo brunch was fabulous! All 3 ladies were full after the appetizers. The jumbo shrimps were really good. They tasted better than those at Beach Blanket Buffet and the crab legs, stone crabs, fresh fruit like papaya etc were delicious. We had Marcelo as our server and he was excellent! I asked him out of $ 10 per person, how much would go to him. He said 40% went to him and 60% would go to the rest of the staff. We ended up giving him more for his wonderful service.

Next, we took our kids to the Mickey Pool. We had to hurry as we really wanted them to have some nap time. They made it to get on the stage for the performance at around 4:00 pm but the show was a bit disappointing. We could hardly see them at all. Mickey came out to sing the last song and that was it.

After that we spent an hour touring around the Ship and took some more “professional photos”. Shutter was where we spent most of our money. At 6:30 we had our Palo dinner where we were being served by another excellent server Hristo. He was treating us like kings and queens! We all 6 adults shared all the appetizers and were very impressed by the shrimps. Seeing that, Hristo bought us more shrimps. For main course we had fish and steaks. They were good. But what was even better was the renowned dessert Chocolate Soufflé. We all agreed that it’s the BEST meal we had ever had. We were so pleased with Hristo that we gave him a lot of tips and we thought it was worth it.

We then rushed to take our kids to the last show: Disney Dream. I think I really like Golden Mickey much more. Golden Micket was still good, though.

After the show we were all tired. When we returned to the stateroom, we saw the envelopes using that we settled our tips with our servers, hosts etc. We tipped our head server O’ Neill more than the recommended amount as he was really good and tipped the rest the recommended amount. We had our luggage ready at the door at around 10:30 pm, and in a few seconds they were all gone!

While my husband was watching the kids sleeping, I went to Shutter to look for the photos we took at Palo but they were not there yet. On my way to the Oceaneer Club to return the pager, the Till We Meet Again farewell event was taking place at the Atrium. I really wanted to wake up the kids but I knew I shouldn’t. Atrium was anyway packed with people and I did not want to feel too sad leaving the Ship, so I headed back to the stateroom right away. Time flew so quickly that I could not believe the vacation I had planned for almost 8 months was coming to end up so quickly...
