March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

Hi All!!
I wanted to share a great deal we found on a shuttle to the port and back to LAX

Karmel Shuttles (recommended by fellow Dissers) has a kids travel free deal right now.

The price for a shuttle between Port and LAX is $40 each way all together ie $20 per person!!!

It's a great deal.

That is a GREAT deal!! Alas, I only have one child that fits (age 11 and under) even with her free we would be paying $96 b/c we have 8 total passengers..we changed our hotel to Crowne Plaza b/c shuttle costs were so high from our other hotel...we got CP for $65 on Priceline and hopefully we can find some cheap option for breakfast (guess we'll be packing granola! :))

For the sweet girl that has autism, my girls will be 11/13 on this trip..they'll most likely spend their time at the new Edge but if we're ever hanging out playing ping pong/shuffle board/swimming..they'd be so happy to make her feel welcomed!!! :)

We have a mini-van. After listening to the postings about the cost of shuttle service between LAX and the port, I am so tempted to offer my services to smaller families for the cost of gas and a burger.

It is crazy what these services are charging. If I lived in the LA area (instead of 6 hours away) I would rent a 15 passenger van from Enterprise and run a shuttle from the airport to the SP hotels, for about $5 a trip, just to cover gas and rental costs.

Hmmm, might have to do this next time. Get in a day earlier and help people out on Saturday. Must think about this more.

I agree with Tara about the little girl. Kenna is also 11 so she will probably only go to the Edge. She would still be happy to send her an email to make her feel welcomed and if they see each other around the ship she would love to befriend her. Kenna has met a few girls through the boards that she has been emailing and she is having a blast doing that.

If you're serious about shuttling (from port to LAX) I'd take you up on the deal and even throw in fries. Let me know~

We have a group of 15 going ages range from 6 to 40ish. We havent yet booked but I contacted them and we are going to book in the next few days. I believe we have to take a taxi to their office by the college disco?

I have read great reviews.

Wow, big group going. :goodvibes It would be 4 of us ages 9-45. I need to contact them and get more details. I read on another message board about some people that got to the office and found out the tour left without them and I do not believe they were really late but right on time. I am not sure which tour company it was but that is the type of thing that has me worried about getting to an office and going from there. I like it better when excursion operators pick you up from the dock. I have not seen any zipline operators that seem to do that though. What time are you booking if for?

The Disney Wonder is entering the Gatun Lock on the East end of the Panama Canal right now. Tonight she'll be on our side of the world!!!!

:banana::banana::banana: :cool1::cool1: :yay: :woohoo::thumbsup2

Please be patient while I get the updated list out...I'm beyond swamped right now, but I'll get it out before I leave for the Dream Christening!

The Wonder has come home to the Pacific! She just passed through the Miraflores Locks and out into the Pacific Ocean for the first time.

Great photo! I am so excited!! I can't wait to get a room #

To Fire Ohana - we are also on the cruise and I have an 11 year old daughter with HFA. It would be great for them to be pen pals before the trip.

Dave, I would be glad to take you up on that offer. We have two vehicles that we are parking at the pier, at $15.00 a day for each vehicle I'm looking at $240.00.

Mark.

Received reservation confirmation yesterday. We were assigned rooms. Looks like our daughter's family will be right around the corner from us. The rooms are mid-ship, which bodes well if the seas are rough.

Hi Mark!

Congrats on your room assignment!! Did you get assigned the same category you booked?

We are still waiting!

Yes, same category. Unfortunately the upgrade fairy didn't visit us. Maybe that will change once we board, but unlikely.

Mark.

My wife and I have an outside cabin. The description of the room reads that it could be a large window or two small port holes. We are in category 9B, anyone have any past experience with these rooms?

Thanks, Mark.

What cabin #? You can search for a cabin report of that specific cabin on the cruise boards, and you might learn more.

Booked Super Shuttle from Port to LAX. They wanted me to put a tip in before I could continue. I hope the drive knows I did that, I've had drivers say mean things to passengers who didn't tip. Got a discount code off a thread, it's CAMAG.
