March 13,2008 3/13/08 3 day WonderFul cruise

Pooh Friday is Bahamas, Saturday is Castaway. Just one more day;)

Castaway Cay is very nice

I've had may days mixed up all week! I really need this vacation. If I can just get packed...I'll be a-okay.

still haven't received docs for one of our rooms.pirate:

I'll try to bring a lime green mickey head to pin on my shirt for the meet at Promenade Lounge at 3:30 Thursday.:thumbsup2

Honestly I think A nice shirt is enough. To me the cruise is very kick back. I remember some people wearing shorts and a t shirt to dinner. I thought that was pretty lazy. I didn't pack a jacket, I would probably only wear it once and i was trying the suitcase diet this trip.

I am going to be at the promenade lounge, I am tall dark and handsome, Which translates to Bald, Fat, Glasses and a Goatie. My wife is the one with the Really nice hair long and curly

I was thinking this morning that my husband packing a jacket would be a waste of space. A tie takes up a lot less room!

I'll try to swing by the Promenade lounge, but it is our first cruise, and we will be arriving late, so chances are slim, as we will probably be exploring the ship first, and I am sure my family has NO interest in a Dis meet :confused3
But if I do stop by, i will look for a guy with glasses and a goatie huddled in a group, LOL!
.
Regarding the whole viewing the shuttle discussion, I think anyplace near the coast would be good, I can see it from my back yard in Orlando.

6 more days!!!!!!!! :dance3:

A shirt and tie it is, then. I have to wear a tie to work most days. Hate it. But a jacket is indeed just that much more bulk.

I'll be another one of those follically challenged folks. No gotee or glasses. Pronounced Southern accent which has taken years to cultivate.

Not long now.

Still staterooms available for our cruise next weekend. Just can't wait to go.

Hoping for great weather at Castaway Cay. Really sad for the folks on the Magic that missed the island this week.

:goodvibes

Currently 30% chance of rain on our Nassau day. I'll be very sad if we miss CC, but I kinda like a day at sea, too.

Our cruise is no longer on the website. It's getting closer. Thursday is almost here.

I checked the forecast and it looks like it's going to be nice. Hopefully no strong system will come in and change all of that.

We're going on a DISNEY cruise.

:dance3:

Yeah, I'm encouraged by the forecasts too. But I think it's my responsibility to have a good time, no matter what happens weatherwise.

I'm having to fight an urge to head south NOW. Just sort of hang out around the terminal, y'know.

It has been pretty cool here. I wore a sleeveless shirt last night and froze. Cold people cold.

Gotta go off to see the shuttle launch!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes I know we need to hurry:banana:

I sure hope you got to see it! I watched the video feed, and it was absolutely spectacular - "nominal," in NASA jargon.

We're packed and in countdown mode ourselves. Here's hoping for smooth sailing and cooperative docking weather/currents at CC!!

Hope you had a great view of the blast off.

We're planning shorts by day, but sweatshirts at night for our land vacation.

But I'm hoping for warm Bahama Winds...and a warm day at Castaway Cay!

Off to finish laundry so I can pack...pack...pack

:laundy:

I'm in serious countdown mode myself. Our flight takes off tomorrow night.

:yay:

YAY, it's almost here!

I had my last day of work today, tomorrow is :laundy: and packing and cleaning the house. Too bad we can't leave till 12 or 1 pm tomorrow, but we only live about an hour away, so not too bad.

Disney Cruise, here we come!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:yay: :yay: :yay:

This is my last post pre-cruise.

We leave this evening and so much to dooooooooo.

I look forward to enjoying this cruise with all of you.

Happy Journey to Port Canaveral.

:dance3:

hi all
Well we're back in Tampa...10 days left of our holiday.
I went to the Promenade Lounge...well I wasn't there exactly 3:30 but was there 3:40 and non one was there..at all! So no cruise meet?

So how was everyone's cruise? It was way too short. I don't think I could do another 3 ight...7 night or more is the way to go. Atlantis was beautiful. Overall we had a good experience except within the first 5 minutes onboard we ran into the server we had last year (whom we really could not STAND...he almost ruined our cruise...as we dreaded going to supper)...and to my surprise he remembered us...weird. Anyhow, he was working at the beach blanket...was he demoted???? Strange to be working there when you use to be a dining room server?

Waiting to here from everyone!

Qball, I must've just missed you. My wife and daughter went to the shopping briefing, and I wandered by, but didn't see anyone.

But the weather was picture-perfect, and we had a blast snorkeling in Nassau - the water wasn't too cold.

And regarding your server - what a coincidence, huh? I noticed that our assistant server worked Beach Blanket Buffet at least once, and I saw both of mine on Castaway Cay. I will say that from those two, I've never had better service on land or on sea. We cruised the Magic in 2000, and I felt like the food was significantly better this time around, and it wasn't bad back then.

Three days was short, though. I missed that sea day, and we're already plotting an Eastern Caribbean cruise for next year.

I may do a trip report. Even though we were in a Cat 11, I didn't feel cramped (we have a travel trailer, so we're used to making the best of smaller spaces!), but I want at least a porthole for a longer cruise. The verandah spoiled me first time around.

We made it to the Lounge at 3:50, the only people there were the crew ready for the life boat drill.

We had a great time watching the shuttle. It didn't last long but was awesome to see. After about 15 seconds it was in the clouds and gone. Traffic wasn't too bad, as soon as it was gone we were jogging to the car and there were still a ton of cars on the road.

Castaway Cay was awesome. That was the most I have enjoyed the island to date. I really wish we could have got right back on. You should have seen the looks I was giving the people at the airport who were waiting to get on the DCL buses to go to the port. No looks really, but I really wanted to go.

Ah, I checked for an upgrade, the Front Desk said check back at 5:30. We did and they said they were all full. So the ship did sell out.

Oh the Exotic Rasul in the Spa was great. It was a good price also, $85 for two people and you get to service your self and each other. Ok what I mean to say is no one else touches you no massage etc. It was 50 minutes of alone time with a steam room and a shower, NICE

Overall a very nice time

Hi everyone!

Wasn't the weather picture perfect the whole time?
I loved havng the veranda, I spent lots of time there just reading and watching the water, and it overlooked Castaway Cay on our day there. I was fabulous!
Loved the Island, we didnt really spend too much time there, maybe 4 hours, but it was great.
I can live without ever visiting Nassau again though. The kids and I just walked into town and visited shops. All we bought was rum and a cigar. The traffic was crazy! Living in Orlando, we have lots of great hotels and we have sea world, so we didn't feel the need to visit Atlantis.
I spent lots of money on drinks on this cruise (hick!) And Bingo was lots of fun (but expensive) and we did not win anything. But the (adult) kids entered the crab race on the island and won, and got "winner" caps.

Backstage Gal, I was RIGHT THERE when your kids won the crab race. How 'bout that?

I've started a trip report, if y'all want to check it out.

WOW, how weird/cool is that, Dreamfinder!

I will be sure to check out your report.

I ran by promendade at 3:25..but had a child who was feeeling ill and didn't hang around..but the whole cruise, I'd look at people and wonder if any of the faces were you guys/gals.

OUR cruise was fabulous. What an awesome day at Castaway. Enjoyed it all. I thought the ribs were really good and my kids ate well that day too.

For those of you that are Castaway Club Members, I was one of the lucky 5 to win a clock!

I didn't mind our inside stateroom..but it was a little noisy...woke us up several times at night. Said they were working in a Galley above us?:confused3

The cruise was still awesome. I think we packed 10 days worth of stuff into 3 nights. We had time alone, time with each child alone, and time as a family. I lve DIsney cruises.

None of us were excited about being at the parks after the cruise. I will NEVER go to the parks after a cruise again. Maybe for a day or two ahead of time...but never after!!! Tooo harried after a relaxing time on the cruise.

Anyone else make it to PALO? Truly and awesome dinner. SO glad we managed to get a table.

I may do a trip report later, but right now I'm just trying to survive the last 3 days of my kids spring break.:rotfl:

:)

I agree with Q ball next time 7 nights
