Marathon spectators outside Yacht Club / Beach Club

Hi there - planning ahead for the Full next year, and trying to decide where to stay with the family so that they can actually see me somewhere along the course without too much trouble. So, I am considering one of the Epcot resorts, and am wondering if anyone stayed in that area, or if any of you runners noticed how the spectator crowds were when running past the Yacht & Beach Club. (Although, I'm sure at that point in the race most were probably staring at the wood planks below their feet - I'm pretty sure that's what I'll be doing by that point )

Anyway, any input would be greatly appreciated - thanks!!!

All of those resorts are really nice in general. They have a great view and easy access to the race course. I'm pretty slow, so I was in that area about 5 hrs into the race and the support was good but certainly not packed-- there would have been room for more cheerers. Some people were set up on beach chairs along the waterway from Hollywood studios to Yacht Club.

We stayed at Boardwalk this year. My wife and daughter met me a little ways before the bridge just in back of our room. I was able to just sit down on the walkway ledge and talk to my 4 year old for a few minutes before continuing. My wife thought it was nice, but it probably would have been better for them if they didn't have to wait so long for me to get there,lol.

The resorts on the monorail might be something to consider too. There are, I'm thinking it's been said, easy access points from there and you'll still be "fresh" so would look good to your family if you want them to see that.

easy place to view from Beach Club or Yacht Club. We went out a few times to stand and cheer for those running. It looked like a lot of people were happy we were there. They were smiling as we cheered and reminded them it was just over 2 miles left and they were almost there. Lots of hand slaps were going on as well as a bunch of you can do its! We were there for the people coming in at about 3 hrs and again for those coming in at about hour 5, they all seemed just as happy to see us.

I do reccomend something loud to make noise cuz individual claps were barely heard.

Perfect place to cheer.
We stayed at BCV and cheered for some friends and WISHers Sunday. Very easy to spot everyone and no crowds. We had fun, called out alot of names of runners passing by. This is near the end so I think this is when they really need the encouragement.

We stayed at the Dolphin and it was perfect location. I needed my DH there just after mile 24 just before as the route goes under the Boardwalk sign heading toward the Yacht Club. I stopped and gave him a hug and he took my picture. He almost missed me though since there seemed to be a problem with the calls going through at that point - there were lots of other people on there phones so I am sure the signals were jammed!!! It was nice because he didn't have to get up at 3 AM with me. We also love that area so it was perfect.

We stayed at the Yacht Club and ran the Half. On Sunday morning I went out at around 8:45 or so and cheered till 10:15 when we had to leave. It was so much fun and so inspiring to see these folks almost there. I wish I could have stayed longer!

We stayed at the Beach Club. I thought it was kind of evil to have to run right by my room to keep going. I was really spent by that point and really didn't notice too many spectators. I mean I know they were there but I bet I couldn't tell you my name by that point.
I just wanted to be done! Then I was. I DID IT!!!!!!
I actually walked through Epcot back to the hotel. I think technically I did a 27.2 or 28.2 that day!

Staying there was great and we LOVED the quick access to Epcot. We would pop over at night just for the fireworks!
