Marathon Buses 2013?

Are the marathon buses this year from the resorts to the start working differently? When I called to check on AoA room availability the CM who was helping me said she couldn't book marathon rooms that I had to book a room through the sports department because of the buses. What?! Never saw anything online about this. Anybody else hear about this?

I booked my room through central reservations and I never hard anything labour the buses. Perhaps that CM was no given the correct information.

I'm pretty sure this is not correct. For the 2011 Princess Half, we booked through runDisney. For the 2012 Full we rented DVC points from a different website. Both times we had bus access...no one looked at our room keys, asked how we booked, etc.

I think the CM you spoke with was confused. I'd call back and speak with someone else. Unfortunately the training of CMs isn't what it used to be. You should be able to call Disney and ask any question to 30,00 different CMs and always get the exact same (and correct) answer to everything. It is a training issue.

Just a misunderstanding/poor training at best; or an attempt to push you through the slightly higher priced Sports reservations desk at worse. Regardless, do not worry as:

1) all resorts are served by buses
2) no one has time to check ID's as you board
3) there are thousands of runners who reserve through DVC and the Central Office and not through Sports so there would be a huge mutiny on race morning.
