I'm starting to get everything together and I realized that the one thing I am short on is maps of the Orlando area. The last time we had a rental car, we stayed on Disney property and spent most of our time in the parks.

This time we are staying off site (little nervous about that) and also going to Universal and several other areas around Orlando.

I've been searching on line for good maps for driving around Orlando, but I haven't really had any luck.

What can you recommend?

I would just drop by the nearest convenience store once you arrive in the Orlando area. You should find a perfectly fine map of Orlando at that time.

If you are a AAA member, check with them. They may have one (unless that varies by where you are in the country; our has them). Your rental car company will have one when you check in there. Some disney info sites have useful maps (try intercot or allearsnet -- (plus dot com)). Look at the guidebooks in your bookstore -- some have maps.

The best map I ever found was at the National Car rental desk at Orlando airport. Dont know if you are flying in or not......if so just walk up and ask for one.....it was very complete, showed alot of major tourist attractions.
It also had a Disney property map on the back.......
