Is there a map out there? We're going to be in the area so we want to stop by WDW for 2 nights/2 full days. I am looking for a fairly inexpensive hotel - Pop Century has a decent rate of $90, but I would love to have something with continental brakfast But it would help tremendously to have a map showing the hotels near the entrance to WDW - I really don't want to spend the precious time in traffic..... Can somoene lest me know if such map exists?

I don't have a map - but we stayed at Comfort Inn Lake Buena Vista last year for one night before we moved over to WDW. Free continental breakfast - and you can get the room for 33.96 a night (tax & fees included) from travelzoo. It is very very close to the Downtown Disney area.

Also, if you use travelocity/expedia/orbitz and use the advanced search function and then the map view it should be able to help you

What did you think of the Comfort Inn? My family will be staying there for the first time for xmas. I read they have WDW vacation packages at a nice discounted price as well. We are looking forward to it :)

Despite numerous bad reviews on tripadvisor - we thought it was a great bargain for the price. Granted we only stayed in the room from 10 pm to 9 am - but we had no problems. No bugs. Room was clean. Not swanky but fine for an overnight stay and the price. When I originally booked the room, I had no idea that there was a fridge and a microwave in the room. - Nice bonus - especially if you are going to be there a while.

The hotel is HUGE -- if I recall there were 4 buildings. I only saw one pool and there was no one in it - but then again - look at the times we were there. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

The breakfast buffet (pay extra for the hot buffet - I think it was like $20 for the 4 of us) was enough to last us until dinner that night. This is a GREAT bargain, IMHO. It was crowded though -- but most of the crowd was the non-paying crowd at the continental breakfast line - the hot line was on the other side of the restaurant (Mickey waffles are there!!).

There is security and when we arrived the security guard stopped us and asked our name - he checked to verify that we had a reservation -- I thought this was a plus.

Our room was on the side of the hotel complex facing the highway - but no sound bothered us.

Overall - I would definitely stay there again (and we are going to do so this December before we switch over to Disney). I would be tempted to stay there for an extended stay as well because of the price and the proximity to Disney -- very very close. The only thing that would stop me personally from staying there is that I love staying onsite and (we have a timeshare in Orlando - which we don't use because I love staying onsite).

I have stayed in many hotels that cost a lot more and were MUCH MUCH MUCH worse. The price can't be beat.

Does anyone know what the good neighbor hotels near disneyworld are?
Thanks!

We stayed back in December of 2003 and the section we were in was really bad. We moved hotel rooms twice. We were in a non smoking room and the third room we got smelled like it was a smoking room. I went to the near by goodings store to get air freshners. We got our room through expedia. They would not move us into another section of the hotel property. My guess is that that building was reserved for the expedia, travelosity etc. users. It was not good. The buses also picked up at other hotels and left the parks 2 hours prior to closing. When you got to the bus there were over 100 people waiting to get on. It was not good. Hopefully they have improved since 2003. Good luck to you!

oh thank you for the info! i read the reviews where alot of them were bad but then i think alot of people do it just to keep the place to themselves LOL ;) i really like the features and what it offers. although we "were" going to WDW my family has changed their minds and want to visit Universal again. Last time we went was in 2006. We really love it there and just cant seem to get enough. Since we only live about a 5 hour drive away we plan on getting the annual passes. :cool1:

I would recommend the Country Inn and Suites in LBV on Palm Parkway and SR 535. The hotel is clean and cute. It offers a Cont. Breakfast daily which is included in the rate. Drive time is about 5 minutes to the DTD area and that's if you hit the 3 lights.

Depending on the time of year the regular room is about 69.00 a night. They also offer a whirlpool suite which is nice after a day of walking around the park. The room is really an extended regular room with a whirlpool tub for two in the bedroom.

All in all, I highly recommend this hotel and location if staying off site.

As far as I know, the Good Neighbor designation is relatively meaningless.

As for location: I've found the Unofficial Guide's list of hotels, which includes driving time to each of the four parks, to be immensely useful---much more so than a map, because some locations that look farther away are actually shorter commutes due to various factors.

They have an online hotel search tool at www.touringplans.com If you subscribe to the site ($7) you can search by driving time to the parks. Very handy.
