Rode SM with DGS and forgot about my hat in all the excitement and off it went on THE DROP. Checked with many CMs and they said that if it went in the water it was history. After ride I went to viewing area and no hat around but DW mentioned to look at lower viewing site. Low and behold under the water is my hat caught on the filters as every log flows over it.
Found a suited CM and asked for some Disney Magic and he mentioned to go back to SM and ask for SM Manager. Did so and down comes Christopher, we talk and I bring him to spot where we can see the hat. He tells me since the ride can not be shut down he will have to wait until 10:15PM after last guest is off ride and he will try to get it if it is still there. He has only gotten 1 out of 3 so far.
I go back at 10:00PM, ask for Christopher and he tells me that as of 7:30PM the hat is still there so he will try at 10:15PM.
10:15 he is out dipping for the hat and after 20 minutes gets it but it falls back into the water. He and another CM run after it and he finally grabs it after it makes the complete turn.
After 12 hours in the water and I have the hat back with a very special 9/11 pin on it.
Thank you Christopher. You are now 50/50 in retrievals but 100% in my book.
