Many days do you spend in Disney

Hello all,
I was just wondering how many days everyone spends in Disney. We are going in June and right now we are booked for one week (7 nights 7 days). We have a 5 and nearly 8 year old. Last year we were there for 6 nights and 6 days and we felt as if we rushed. When we got home, we felt like we missed a lot.

So I just thought I would see how long you all stay and see if we are just missing too much or if we need more days.:surfweb:

We go the first week of September generally. And we go for nine days/eight nights. We work our flights out so we are there by 1:00 and we try to catch a 4:00 or 5:00 flight so we don't lose a full day both ways...we get a half day at the parks on arrival and departure day...giving us eight days.

We stay at least 10 nights/11 days so we have time to visit the parks and have a few days where we just relax at the resort. A week is just too rushed for us.

We usually go in the summer in order to have an extended stay. We are usually there a minimum of 10 nights. This year we will be there 12 nights. We have done some quick trips before and those are a lot of fun, but I am much more relaxed on the longer ones.

Thanks for such quick responses. I really want to find a good balance of relaxation and fun. I want to enjoy the parks at whatever pace the kids can take, but I don't want to miss a thing this year. I think last year we swam once (in may) and realized that we only swam in one of the two pools at the Grand Floridian. I didn't even get in the hot tub  I think if we slow down and add a day or two all will be good......:thumbsup2

We stay at least 10 - 12 nights and we also book the earliest flight out and the latest back to add more time there!!! This year we're going for 2 weeks and I know I won't want to leave even after that long. :goodvibes

We usually go during the summer and stay 8-9 nights.

We usually stay a week (Sat-Sat) and alternate a day in the parks with a day at the resort. I've been at WDW while 8 mos. preggers and with a little one as young as 3 mos. This year my kids are (DS-13,DD-10,DS-8,DS-6). They have all been to the parks before. We don't do commando, but we get everything in and don't feel like we need another vacation to recover from this one.

We usually stay 6 days and do not do all of the parks on a trip. My kids seem to get worn out too fast. Also, I try to get out before I have spent all of my savings! Would love to stay longer.

In the summer (June or July) we stay for two weeks. We also always booked the earliest flight in and the latest flight out.

When we do our winter trip (Jan or Feb) we usually just stay for 5 or 6 nights.

Last year we were there 7 nights and it was not enough time. Next year we are going for 9 nights. Hopefully, that will be enough.

My first trip was in '99...we were there for 4 nights/5 days. Now, if I go with family, we stay Sunday-Sat usually. I go myself, with friends, usually once a year..then it's for about 5 nights. I have gone for 10 days..that was a longish visit and I was ready to go home. Last year we were there for a day and a night.....man, we crammed a lot into that one day!! In Sept I'm taking my dd for 3 nights...a long weekend. But, we've been over 15 times, so we no longer feel the need to do it all, see it all. We are much more laid back now.

As long as you realize that you don't have to do everything every time you go you will be fine. Make a list of must dos and another of what you would like to do. Then a list of what you didn't like last time. You can easily have a trip of 10 days or more and still feel rushed. Do what you can afford and don't sweat the little stuf. If you go realizing that you don't have to do it all and can save some for another trip then you will have a good time. On the other hand if you go with a rigid schedule or expect that you have to filt it all in you are always going to feel rushed or like you are feeling something. Just enjoy what you are doing with those you are with and have a good time. As my father liked to say take some time to smell the flowers you might just see something you would have otherwise missed.

I almost forgot, your choice of resort can also have an impact on how rushed you can feel. We like OKW for just that reason. The extra room it afords us to stretch out helps to .

We usually do 6 days but it is just not enough with children so this year we bumped it up to 8 days/7nights. I felt to rushed last year.

Due to finances, wanting to avoid the hottest times of year, lack of vacation time and reluctance of taking DD out of special education classes for longer vacations we have reduced our Disney trips to 5 or 6 nights. We just go knowing we aren't going to be able to see and do it all. Ideally I would like to stay 8-10 nights every trip but that isn't in the cards for us. And yes I am jealous of those of you that can!!!

We do 2 8 night 9 day trips and many 2 night 3 day trips a year

We usually go in December b/c I cannot stand the heat and exhaustion of the summer months. We usually stay a week, 7 days/6nights. I always feel sad when we leave, but I also am not THAT sad, b/c we have been able to return every year!:) So, I have planning to take care of when I get back home....wonderful Disney planning!!

Our first trip we went for 3 days.....no where near enough time.....every trip since then has been 10 days.....
