Poor DS (just turned 16) has had unibrow issues for most of his life. In addition, he has really wide eyebrows. He seems to have this normal line and below that are just tons of little hairs. He doesn't have bushy eyebrows at all. The place that cuts his hair only shaves the brows and because there isn't any bushiness, they can't help him. That means I have to take him to get them waxed regularly. He hates it! Part of the reason is because the salons that do waxing tend to cater to females so he feels out of place. I wish the "guy" place he got his haircut at could do it. Anyway, is there any other option besides waxing? He will never pluck at his age. I am lucky he will brush his teeth! :lmao: I just read about laser removal, but it says they don't recommend the eyebrows. Is there any other option that I am missing?

IF you trust yourself you can buy the wax&warmer to use at home. My DH has always had a uni tho luckily his older sis became a hairdresser and has waxed them for him since his early teens. You could have it done at the "girly" salon and begin doing them at home before the outline was disappeared using it as a guide? Best of luck...maybe a NoNo if not at home waxing?

Since he's a guy and you're probably not looking for perfection you may want to try an eyebrow shaper or one of the battery operated hair removers. I have used these on both my son's eyebrows as they were just looking to get rid of a unibrow and a few stray hairs. You have to be pretty careful though because one wrong move can make it worse instead of better so you would have to feel comfortable with steady hands. My sons wouldn't do it themselves but would let me do it for them. Might be worth a try.

I just attack DH with tweezers. When DSs are older I will talk to them about tweezers or give them the option of waxing.

My son gets his waxed. He's only on the salon for a few minutes and his dad always takes him. He's been threaded before but thought that was more painful then waxing.

I did try waxing a few times at home and just wasn't comfortable with it. I can do the uni-brow at home without a problem, but since I still need to take him in for the eyebrows themselves, I might as well let them do the whole thing.

Thanks! I had to youtube an eyebrow shaper. I think I could do that! His eyebrows are fine. He has a very clear line. It is just all the hair under the brow that needs groomed. I think I will try that. How bad can I mess it up? :rolleyes1 :lmao:

They can actually do them at the nail salons, which are not busy on Mondays and Tuesdays. I was just chit chatting one day and the owner said that is when the men go in for wax and pedicures because there are very few customers and it's in a strip mall so no one notices their vehicles, either. lol! My stylist does mine and does a lot of waxing. She has her own little place so no one notices if a guy runs in for a 5-10 minute visit.

Where I live there is a local chain that caters to men (attractive female stylists, sports memorabilia on the walls, TVs at every station, big easy chairs and TVs in the waiting area, etc.).

This place offers eyebrow waxing for its clientele. Maybe there is a similar place in your community? He may feel more comfortable there, seeing that it's an all male clientele, even though it'll be a woman who works on him.

My son gets his hair cut at Sports Clips which sounds like what you described. Unfortunately, they don't wax. The most they do is shave bushy brows and his aren't bushy.
