Sunday 13th August ~ Day 11
Even though we were cream crackered from our late night last night, I was still up at 7.15am. I got showered and brought breakfast back to the room where we all decided to go to Islands of Adventure today. We were all out by 8.15am and we got to the entrance to IOA about 8.45am and the park was already open.
It was already very warm, but we managed to ride The Hulk 3 times, Duelling Dragons 3 times (twice Ice and once Fire) and Jurassic Park twice.
We were all hot and bothered by 11am, so we left and Paul bought some t-shirts in the Surf shop on the way out. We then popped into the Lake Buena Vista outlets so that the girls could go to Claires and I got Paul a top from the Converse store.
We went back to the Pop and had lunch in the foodcourt and we noticed that it was getting rather busy.
We tried to sunbathe, but we were interrupted twice by thunder and lightning.
The afternoon remained cloudy and as we wandered through the lobby at the Pop, we noticed how busy it was. We got to the bus stop for Epcot and once again saw how busy the lines were ~ could this be the beginning of the free Disney Dining Plan ?? I wondered.
Anyway we caught the bus to Epcot and hubby & I decided to have a drinky poo around the world night ~ LOL. We had a Sminoff Ice in The Land and got a FP for Soarin. We then had some choccy and a Bacardi & Coke in the Rose & Crown. Right from entering the park there were the rumbles of thunder, but thankfully no rain. The girls had their tea at the American Adventure (I could be wrong, but Im sure it was Chicken Strips once again ~ LOL). We then popped into Germany for a couple of wines and then it began to drizzle. Paul & I were happy to sit out in the light rain, but I sent the girls into the lovely crystal/ornament shop next to the Weinkeller ~ BIG MISTAKE .
. Moments later Kerry came rushing out, Mum, come and have a look at this so I followed her in, where she pointed out this beautiful tiara with a Mickey head shape on the front. Mum, can I have it ?? ... No where are you going to wear that ? ... Well to my Prom next year. So this conversation carried on for about 10 minutes (and even Paul got involved) when suddenly the wine took hold of my mouth ~ and I ended up saying she could have it (I know Im too soft). Here it is, I must say it is gorgeous, I just hope it does get used.
So about $35 + tax later we leave Germany and head to Morocco where Paul & I have another Chicken & Lamb Platter.
The rain is getting harder now, so we leg it to the Rose & Crown (well it is on the way) and end up staying there for a couple of drinks, as I didnt want to get wet. We got chatting to some other Brits, and much to the girls disgust we start singing along to the Pearly Queen, so they go and hide in the phone box outside.
The rain started to die down, so the girls dragged us out of the R &C and we were able to use our FP for Soarin.
We then got the bus back to the Pop and collapsed in bed ~ we'd had another great day
