Sunday 15th July
We were all up around 7am as we were heading to Epcot for EMHs. We arrived for 8am and it was already quite busy. We rode Soarin and got a FP for later. We had breakfast in The Land of a bacon, scrambled egg and cheese croissaint (very nice), muffins, cookies and orange juice. We rode Soarin again and when we came out, the Park was really busy. The FPs for other rides were about 3 hours away, so we decided to head to MouseGear (my fave shop in WDW) and out of the park (just as a huge Brazillian tour group arrived).
We went back to the Pop and sat by the pool for an hour or so.
After lunch we got in the car and went up to the Florida Mall, for a change it was me doing some shopping. I bought a Marian Keyes book and a lovely top from Billabong and Paul bought me a pink Ipod Shuffle from the Apple shop.
After an hour or so there we got back in the car and took off for Cocoa Beach. We had always wanted to come down here to see the Disney Wonder sail from Port Canaveral,
and on a Sunday and Thursday night I will be found on the twopalms website watching the Disney Wonder sail by, and as we were joining the Disney Wonder on Thursday, we thought it would be nice to see her knowing that the next time we saw her, wed be getting onboard. Also, as the girls are so keen on these Surf-type shops, we thought wed visit Ron Jons while we were there.
We arrived at Cocoa Beach about 4pm and went to Ron Jons. Unfortunately, the girls werent impressed with it, it was huge, very busy and everything was very close together, you just couldnt see things very well. So half an hour later we left to find the estuary. As we were pulling into the car park, the radio made a really weird noise and went quiet and to our shock, a tornado announcement was made for near Cape Canaveral. It was still lovely, sunny and hot and at 5pm (when the Wonder leaves port) we found a great place to take some photos and video. A Cruise ship went by, and we could see the Disney Wonder sailing towards us. It was a lovely place to come for a picnic and lots of people were there having b-b-qs and it was so nice to see Dolphins playing in the sea.
As the Wonder neared us, you could see the sky darkening in the distance. When she reached us, we took more photos and as she got to us the ships horn played When You Wish Upon a Star. It was great and I had a little tear in my eye as I waved madly at the lucky people who were heading off on their 4 night cruise.
Once she passed us, we legged it to the beach for some final photos, then suddenly the wind picked up and the sand was getting in our faces. Lots of people we grabbing their stuff and rushing back to their cars, so we made a quick exit too.
After about 5 minutes the rain arrived, and my goodness it poured and there was lightning going off all around.
It didnt last long and after half an hour we were back in the sunshine and half an hour away from WDW.
It was on the way home that I noticed that I wasnt feeling too well, I had a sore throat and felt very cold (fingers crossed that it doesnt get worse).
On the way back we stopped at the Premium Outlets where I bought a Captain Jack Sparrow t-shirt for Pirate Night on the cruise.
Once we got back to the Pop, I quickly got everything ready for the next day and I was in bed by 9.15pm I hope I feel better tomorrow
