Me (Mandy) - 43 - Searching for some Bahama Mamas
DH (Paul) - 42 - Searching for some peace and quiet
DD1 (Kerry 16) & DD2 (Becky 14) - Searching for Hollister Stores
Monday 23rd July
We were up around 7ish and on our way to Universal Studios at 8am.
Once again it was quite busy, but we didn't mind as we were only here to ride The Mummy (which we rode 3 times without long lines) and Men In Black (which we rode twice, with me beating Paul on both occasions).
After a couple of hours in Universal Studios and as it was quite cloudy, we thought wed head for the Mall at Millenia where once again Hollister took the brunt of the girls money.
When we came out it was pouring down, so we went to the China Jade for lunch. As it was still raining when we came out, we went up to Festival Bay. I loved this place, it was so clean, fresh and new and not like a normal shopping mall. Paul was delighted to find the David Beckham LA Galaxy football shirt that he was after and the girls bought some shorts in some of the trendy stores there.
We left Festival Bay to head back to the Pop where we chilled for a few hours. In the evening the girls wanted to stay in, so Paul & I caught the bus over to Epcot for a couple of drinkys. We had a White Zinfandel in The Land and a couple of Leibfraumilchs in Germany. One thing we noticed this trip was that the menu had changed at the Lotus Blossom restaurant in China, which was really disappointing, as we always used to eat there. I had checked to see if the counter service restaurant in Japan would be open, but I had read that it was still closed. So we were really pleased to find that the Yakatori House was actually open. We have never eaten here before, and we thought that the menu was just the kind of thing that we all liked. So we tried a Japanese curry (a beef and vegetable curry) and a Teriyaki chicken and both the dishes were very nice, and we decided to bring the girls here later in the week.
Finally we had a quick drink in the Rose and Crown and then we made a hasty exit before IllumiNations started.
We were all in bed by 10pm
