Saturday 13th January ‘07

I was up around 6.30am and I had a quick shower before waking everyone else up.

This morning we wanted to get to DTD early for check-in at Virgin that was starting at 8.30am. We got there around 8am and all the Virgin staff were there (hurrah !!) BUT they couldn’t get the door to their office opened. About ½ hour later the WDW Locksmith arrived and within 10 minutes check-in started. Thankfully we were near the front of the line and by 8.50am we were back in the car heading for Animal Kingdom.

We got a FP for Expedition Everest and also waited in line to ride it. We had breakfast in Harambe of fruit, danishes and apple turnovers. After brekkie we had some photos taken with Stitch and then our FP time came around, so we rode EE one last time.

As we only came to AK for EE, we then left for Epcot (we always finish our holiday there). We got a FP for Soarin’ and we rode Mission:Space. We then had a walk around World Showcase where we had lunch in the American Adventure. I wasn’t in the mood for burgers or chicken strips, so I had my very first funnel cake with ice-cream, it was yummy and I’ll definitely have another one of those on my next trip.

We rode Soarin’ and had one final look in Mouse Gear and then it was time to say goodbye to WDW and we left for Orlando International.

We got rid of the car and had some tea in the food court and we bought yet more T-Shirts and other bits from Ron Jon’s.

The plane left on time, and the journey was uneventful, the films weren’t that good as was the food. I think I slept for about 3 hours (most unusual for me) and we arrived home early. In my haste to get off the plane I left my legendary pink cowboy hat onboard (never mind I’ll buy another one next time). We had no huge wait for the cases to come off the plane and we rang for our car to meet us. I think we got in our car around 7.30am and we were home for 9am and in bed by 9.15am.

Summary

This was the BEST HOLIDAY EVER, we did so many great things like celebrating birthdays, going for breakfast with Lilo & Stitch, staying the night at the Contemporary and the best part ever ~ the Cruise.

We met some lovely people, and I really hope that we get the chance to meet again.

The ONLY downside to this holiday was that I suffered the worst jet-lag ever, it took me about 10 days to get back to normal, when I’m usually fine within 2 or 3 days.

Thank you for taking the time to read my trip reports, it was great reliving it all again while typing it out. If you have any questions ~ then please just ask.

Thanks again

Mandy :)

Really, really enjoyed your reports Mandy, you did so much it seemed like a lot longer than 15 days, you're a girl after my own heart - its Disney all the way and the cruise sounded fantastic, how lovely to meet so many other DISsers, have you cruised before? is it really worth the so much more extra money than, say RCL, NCL etc? it certainly seems like a lot of fun.

I can't believe you haven't got a countdown again yet! I'm waiting patiently, I have to live my Disney holidays through all you lot now :rotfl2:

I really enjoyed reading your trip report's, Really glad you had a great holiday :cool1:

Glad you had such a great time Mandy and thanks very much for the reports.

Do you think the reason you had such a hard time getting over the jet lag is because you went to bed as soon as you got home?
We always try to stay awake right through the day and go to bed as late as possible that night. It seems to work well for us and I am usually straight back on to UK time.

Kev

Thanks Mandy have really enjoyed reading your reports :)

:wave2: Mandy

Thanks so much for writing such a nice long trip report.

Meeting everyone onboard the Disney Wonder was just fantastic.

This was the best cruise that I have ever been on (this was number 12 :thumbsup2 ). It was best because of the great company that was on the ship with us.

Thanks so much for starting the Jan 07, 2007 cruise thread one year before we left. The thread really helped to bring us all together, having that whole year to chat about our vacation and get to know each other.

I hope that I can meet up with you and your family again sometime in the future.

If you are ever planning on travelling in Canada, let me know. ::yes::

Brilliant trip report!! I cant believe how much you squeeze into each day, no wonder you were tired when you got back!!

Thanks really enjoyed it sorry they have to come to an end

Thanks for the great read :thumbsup2

Great trip report Mandy, I've really enjoyed reading it all.

As you enjoyed your cruise so much, have you ever thought of doing "just" a cruise? Maynot not a Disney cruise? We love cruising and currently have no fewer than 5 of different lengths booked between now and Feb/Mar 2008.
