I was wondering if anyone here had ever been to or heard anything about the Mandara spa at the Dolphin. It is suppossedly modeled after an asian getaway like bali. Since we are going to be at the Boardwalk this will be easier than the GF spa. I can only seem to find minimal info plus I can not seem to find menus and prices. I guess I will give them a call but I thought I would ask you all first..thanks :goodvibes

I don't know about the Mandara spa, but I highly recommend the spa at Saratoga Springs. It blows the Grand Floridian away (in my opinion). My fiance and I went to both spas (GF and Saratoga) in November and we both liked Saratoga better. The locker rooms at Saratoga are awesome! They are huge! If you are going with your bridesmaids, the locker room would be great to relax and sip on some tea or water. The only thing Saratoga doesn't offer is a couple's massage. I like the service at Saratoga a whole lot better. Each spa has there pros and cons, but I would check into Saratoga.

The spa is very nice, but I only had my hair done there. DH and I were celebrating our first year anniversary, and I walked over there from the BWV's. What exactly are you wanting to have done there? When I made the appt I was told they did have a hairstylist there on Sunday's, but when I called to confirm that morning (Sunday Oct 30th) they said that they weren't going to have one there. They made special accomidations for me(I was very impressed!), and when I arrived the lady doing my hair said they only had one chair for hair styling. My hair looked so nice and I really thought the staff was awesome! HTH!

Disney never posts the prices on the menus.

We received poor, poor service at the Saratoga Spa. I, too, loved the locker rooms. But, when FMIL and I went, they didn't have EITHER of her appointments on the books. Thank goodness she took meticulous notes and happened to write down the name of the person who she was on the phone with. When my mom arrived later, her appointment was missing, too. All three of our appointments were set up individually and on different days. The only reason mine was likely on the books was because it was a guy who did only the 80 minutes massages.

They did a nice job apologizing, got both of them in within about an hour's time and gave them spa gifts valued at around $75 a piece. But it's not likely we will ever return there.

FYI you can get the prices for treatments at the GF and SSR spas and the fitness centers. Look at http://www.relaxedyet.com/services.shtml under services. From what I've been told by people who work at the GF Spa, these spas and fitness centers are run by Nikki Bryan but owned by Disney, except for the GF Spa which is owned by Nikki Bryan. I'm unfamiliar with the Mandara Spa and its prices...

Wow... thanks for that information! I always hate calling and asking the prices! Great resource!

Pixie-

Maybe call the spa and see if they are owned by Nikki Bryan? If there are, you might be able to find a similar PDF file as the one listed above. Before this, I have only ever found the PDF files that list the treatment and not the price.

Or, call in with the treatment options and ask the pricing on each of the treatments.... that's what we've always had to do! Seems like it should be posted somewhere what with the SSR and GF listed...

I think I will call...they are not owned by nikki bryan they are there own chain...they usually have spas in the posh hotels in places like the carribean and mexico BUT it is not like the GF is all that cheap is it?? :rotfl:

No... you pay a premium becuase they have to pay a premium to be on property.

One of my massage therapists explained the Mouse/Nikki Bryan/Therapist cuts when it came to the overall price. I am not positive (and don't intend to give out false information), but I believe he said the prices on propety were so high because NB keep their cut and just adds the difference to pay WDW their's. This was last Christmas, so it's not that old... I just never fully retained the information! I do remember he said people will pay the high prices regardless so they're (NB) not being pushed to bring them down.

If you have transportation, maybe you want to look at some of the other spas around? If it's not a wedding-day treatment that is! What about Gaylord Palms? Or one of the downtown options if it's nail, etc., that can be done the day before? I know I saw a post here that one of the brides listed the prices for her nails (which she had done there). Maybe you want to go looking for it in some of the older threads? Or, it mught be easier to pick up the phone and call!

we have a couples spa treatment booked for march at the mandara spa a day before the wedding. it looks awesome & we love that they have a large couples room with a private hot tub. our massages will be $300, actually a bit cheaper than the gfs couples treatment. if you call or email the mandara spa they will give you the pricing.

fyi the mandara spa is not owned by niki bryan, only the disney spas are. the swan & dolphin isnt owned by disney either.

I just brought back their price list ...I'll try to post it tomorrow night if no one else got to it first.....too...tired ...now ....

I called and they e-mailed me all the prices in minutes (and this was back in August). Just give the a call, I can't find my e-mail.

i went there during our last trip to get my hair done like tinkerbell for MNSSHP. the place is beautiful and they did a great job on my hair. the style was supposed to cost $59 but the girl at the register made a huge boo-boo and charged me 59 cents. yeah, you read that right, 59 cents. she printed out a ticket for $59 and i signed it. then she printed out another ticket that read 59 cents. for some reason, i didn't question the 59 cents ticket. when we got home from WDW, i checked my credit card online and there it was, a charge for 59 cents. i did like the place and actually, come to think of it, i still have the brochure that they emailed me. i'll have to look for it and attach it so you can see the prices.

thanks everyone for you help I actually am going to send an email now...if I get it back soon I will post the info!

Tinkerbela- how awesome is that? Talk about right place at the right time! ;) Is it as beautiful as in the pics?

I went to the Mandara spa in October for a french manicure and pedicure. I loved it! They girl who did my treatments was very nice, and the manicure lasted over a week, which was a first for me, so I was really impressed. I dont have the price list, and DH snuck in while my treatments were being done, so I dont know how much the total ended up being, but I remember that their treatments seemed to run $10-$20 less than the GF spa.

Thanks hmGolden! I have emailed the spa last night but no word yet! I will let you all know the updates lol!
