They haven’t for some time, but also had the allegations that surfaced last summer.I didn't know anything about allegations - I thought audiences just didn't like him.
If you don’t like Jared Leto I recommend watching Fight Club. There is a scene where Edward Norton pounds his face in. Very cathartic for Leto-haters!Yeah I do not like him and assumed Tron Ares would be terrible because he was in it. Not sure why I dont like him but I dont, gives me the creeps.
And I had huge crush on Edward Norton back in the day too!If you don’t like Jared Leto I recommend watching Fight Club. There is a scene where Edward Norton pounds his face in. Very cathartic for Leto-haters!
It looks like Mandalorian and Grogu is on pace for $1 billion worldwide and will be another smash hit for Star Wars. When Ryan Gosling’s starfighter comes out that will also join the $1 billion club!
It’s about $300 million after 2 weeks. So it should cross $1 billion in week 7.
300/2=150.
150 x 7 =1,050 or $1.05 billion
Well, it's going to slide down for the most part. Also, theaters keep more of the box-office share the longer a movie is out. I don't see this one legging out to a billion unless it has really long legs. If the second weekend had been stronger, it might have been possible. Still, It could do $500M or more and I think that's going to get it into the black.
This day and time, the 2nd weekend is very tell about long term prospects. But there is just no room for it in this summers theaters....
And that's just the big ones for the US Market, there are some "small" movies coming out and the international markets have their own films. The reality is here in the USA, even multiplexes with 10 or 12 theaters, will have to stop showing Mandalorian by the first of next month, as they'll need the theater space to put most of these films in multiple theaters.
- June 5: Masters of the Universe
- June 12: Disclosure Day
- June 19: Toy Story 5, The Death of Robin Hood
- June 26: Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, ******* 5
- July 1: Minions & Monsters
- July 10: Moana (Live Action)
- July 17: Christopher Nolan's The Odyssey
- July 31: Spider-Man: Brand New Day
$450 Million is my guess.
Clearly critics and viewers liked it, it was a fun movie.... but many aren't living on unlimited funds and have to pick where to spend their money. Beside it will be on Disney+ in a few months.
Supergirl and Spiderman will be the only ones off that list we will see in the theater. My young adult daughter (25) is very pumped for bothYup, and that's been the issue for a while with everyone chansing that "Marvel Money" - there are only so many movie-going dollars and you can't have six or seven Billion+ movies in a year. Disney is still going to be the big winner this year with Toy Story 5 (apparently featuring Taylor Swift!) and Moana. Spider-Man is also going to be huge!

LOL took me a minute to figure out what was starred out

I agree about both will be tepid, I think the spin is already happeningI think that Supergirl and He-Man will be tepid. I am looking forward to the latter, but Supergirl doesn't look too good. The first trailer was very offputting. I am going ot have to hear some very specific positives about that movie before I see it.
I am sure The Odyssey will be successful, though not in the big, big numbers. Personally, I don't "get" Christopher Nolan's work. He doesn't resonate with me at all. Maybe if I was having toruble sleeping....![]()

Curious as I dont remember the first trailer of Supergirl, what did you find off putting if you can recall. My daughter like the more 'punk' aspect to her character, where she is not so goody goody and is still figuring it out.
yeah, not so sure about seeing the Odyssey. Not my usual movie fare, that is something I would wait for. LOL I know the story so no spoilers. I have not watched much of Nolan's stuff besides a couple of his Batmans
Well, it doesn't help that it is based on a comic book that I find...questionable. That writer is always being subversive and giving everyone PTSD. That said, the line (which is in the book), "My cousin sees the good in everyone. What do you see? The TRUTH." That is so cyincal and I can't stand cynicism! It is also completely dismissive toward Superman when they just did a whole movie about how kindness is the most punk rock thing of all. Krypto peeing on a picture of Superman too - I mean, what message are they trying to send? That Superman sucks and Kara is just too cool for school? Really? I mean, you can be a bit avant garde and all without being a total...*AHEM* or losing your heart. They shouldn't have to tear Superman down to make Supergril cool.
That's just my take though. Granted, I am a lifelong comic book reader, so this stuff is VERY near and dear to me and I have some very specific buttons that can get pushed. Don't even get me started on the Green Lantern trailer! And here I hoped DC was going to get their cinematic universe on track.
LOL I had to look it up. Of course it is raising controversy. how dare she talk about sexism. Nothing triggers the toxic male fans like woman not appreciating being constantly objectified in the superhero world.A look at DC's upcoming films.... and one does have to question what Gunn and Safran are drinking. And early tracking has WB worried, along with some starting another round of Snyder vs Gunn debate among DC fans, especially after Superman underperformed.
But also been some controversy around Alcock's comments in Variety.
That's not how movie revenues work. It’s about $300 million after 2 weeks. So it should cross $1 billion in week 7.

I appreciate you showing your math to support your opinion. Unfortunately, this is not how the vast, vast majority of box office works for movies. There are few that have defied a drop in box office and made money week after week, like Titanic or My Big Fat Greek Wedding. It’s about $300 million after 2 weeks. So it should cross $1 billion in week 7.
