We love to go to WDW for spring break, but we're probably going to cancel this year so we can go to England this summer. I was last in England in 1983 (oh, so young at the time) and dh and ds have never been there. We are planning on London, some daytrips from London, Cornwall (we have family there) and the Manchester area. We are flying into Manchester.

Dh and ds(16) are musicians and most of our non Disney trips involve hours spent in guitar stores. Ds is a huge fan of Joy Division, Smiths and other Manchester bands. They are both huge Beatles fans. I know Liverpool has many Beatles tours and sites. I don't know about Manchester.

Does anyone here from Manchester have any advice about music themed tours or sites?

I am very much looking forward to our England trip, but I will so miss Disney this spring. Especially with the winter we've had this year (it's 5F right now with about a foot of snow on the ground.)

Thanks for any advice you can give.

I live in Manchester and will keep my eyes open for music themed tours, etc. I know of this, but don't know how good it is and there might be more.

One tip I can give you is bring plenty of waterproof clothes. Manchester is statistically the wettest place in the UK and it does show.
