Well, we're just back from our trip and had a great time
I remember several people wondering whether getting a taxi from the Travelodge to the airport would be simple.
There was a steady stream of taxis the morning we left and the reception staff seemed to be 'on the ball'
A word of warning to anyone driving to the shuttle carpark on the morning of their flight
We did the Virgin online checkin so only needed to be at the airport one hour before the flight
Basically we messed up and didn't allow enough time to get through the busy morning traffic, deal with getting lost (as we always do!), parking the car and getting the shuttle back to the airport
Rather than risk missing the flight I made the executive decision to park in T2 longstay, and they offset the cost against what I'd already paid so all's well that ends well
