Man arrested for touching girls at Typhoon Lagoon

This seems to happen at water parks a lot.
Not sure there is anything that can be done to prevent it....what do you think?
Not Sure? Are you nuts? Granted I know you're just a news slappy trying to drum up some good feedback for the 5 o'clock news, but c'mon... seriously.

There's nothing Disney can really do. If someone pays to get into their parks, they pretty much have to let them. The TSA doesn't work at the turnstiles for Disney. What CAN be done starts with awareness by visitors. Talk to your kids about avoiding situations like this. If you're a parent - stay close to your kids so the big fat man with creepy pink goggles will think twice about coming near them.

I for one will be talking to my boys about this when we go in a few weeks. But I'm not terribly worried. The oldest is a soccer player and has a pretty mean kick. The youngest is a fairly accomplished green belt in karate. If creepy pink goggle man comes near my kids - he's getting kicked and won't be having kids of his own any time soon.

A few years back there was alot of news stories of lewd acts happening at Typoon Lagoon and Aquatica. I thought maybe new security was deployed since I haven't head of a story since then or it just wasn't getting reported. TL does has undercover security swimming in the wave pool but besides that I really don't know what they can do.

A good start would be to make it a crime for anyone on a sex offender registry to be in any place like this.

Sure, its like a restraining order against someone who is trying to kill you however its at least something.

There are lots of things that can be done. Heck I am all in favor of a notation of a drivers licence or state ID for sex offenders, show your ID at the gate if its got a red border around it then its a no go for entry.

While not perfect, international guests could show their overseas ID and you could argue that since they have come into the country they have been somewhat screened already by homeland security.

Yeah I know its a PITA, It will slow things down and people might not be thrilled with the idea, personally I don't care if it helps keep these perverts away from my wife and children while they are playing then so be it.

As far as I am concerned when your convicted of certain crimes you give up the right to certain things in society.

We used to have lots of problems with this as well. People take advantage of the wave pool to "accidentally" bump and touch others. It is near impossible to tell if it is intentional or not until a pattern develops. We used to take graduating seniors and the girls always seemed to have this problem, guys would intentionally position themselves in front of them before the wave came and would get pushed into them.

Unfortunately, this doesn't and wouldn't help anything. Even if they restricted sex offenders from amusement parks, water parks, etc...they will still find a way to get near kids. It will also give a false sense of security for the other guests. A lot of the problems from my above post were not sex offenders but high school/college age boys......
