Man Arrested For Sexual Assault At Disney World Resort

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A Deltona man is in jail, charged with having sex with a 12-year-old girl who was vacationing at Walt Disney World with her family.

Disney released the following statement to Channel 9 “This type of behavior is not tolerated on our property. This is a law enforcement matter.”

According to the arrest report, Jean Garcia met the 12-year-old victim at Walt Disney World’s Fort Wilderness resort in May over the Memorial Day weekend. The victim was visiting from Clearwater with her family.

Investigators say Garcia had sex with the girl in a laundry room closet on the camp site.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office was tipped off about what had happened after the child told her foster mother about the incident because she thought she was pregnant.

The girl was not pregnant and investigators were able to track down the suspect because he gave the 12-year-old his phone number written on the back of a business card.

That business card belonged to a City of Deltona parks and recreation employee. A city spokesperson told Channel 9, Garcia does not work for the city and the employee whose name is on the card doesn’t know him.

After a three month investigation, deputies arrested Garcia last week after a Sheriff’s Office decoy was able to lure him back to Disney by claiming to be the young victim.

Garcia was booked into the Orange County Jail with no bond. The charges against him include lewd or lascivious battery and sexual battery

Do you really think the 12 year old girl is to blame for this instead of the adult scum-bag? There is a reason it is against the law to have sex with kids under a certain age, they can be easily tricked and manipulated, and if you looked a little harder, it says she is with a foster family, so the kid has already had a hard time for one reason or another without having people judge her.

umm... probably not... she is in foster care and that doesn't happen here in FL unless you are completely inept as a parent.

The article I read said that they had oral sex, he tried to penetrate her, but she didn't want to have intercourse (sorry if that violates any rules- I'm not trying to be vulgar!) It also said that they caught him by luring him into a meet with "her"- and he brought condoms.
Of course, now I can't find the dang article, and it was a few days ago, so maybe the story has changed since then.


And seriously? A twelve year old? You're saying a twelve year old in foster care is to blame for wanting the approval of an older man? She's in sixth grade, tops. A YEAR out of elementary school. A twenty nine year old who claims he thought a twelve year old was 18 vs. someone who should still be watching animated movies, Hannah Montana, and having slumber parties. I'm sure that guy had his share of tragedy, hence the predilection for children, but there's no excuse to hurt a child like that.
Such sick stuff shouldn't happen in Disney World. All that is supposed to be left outside the purple entrance.
