As we were booked with Virgin Holidays (uk travel agent) we took advantage of the opportunity to make use of the private lounge for Virgin Holiday customers. It was fab, lovely and quiet and the food was fresh and there was plenty of it  We filled up in here before the flight and took a boots meal deal on board the flight as I hate the smell of airline food!

A couple photos of the lounge (from the adults only area) (these are all lousy as they were taken from my ipad)

My husband had the cooked breakfast (very british!)

I had the sausage sandwich and some fruit (not pictured)

Henry also treated himself to a piece of caramel shortbread (note the bite mark he was too eager!)

It was well worth it, and I would love to make use of this lounge again! ::yes:: The kids area looked fab as well :)

Wolfgang Pucks Express Dinner

As our flight landed early :hyper: and for the first time ever we were on the Magical Express before it got dark we decided to get the boat across the Wolfgang Pucks for dinner

As usual the food was delicious, and it is a great counter service location, we were served by the same miserable man as 2009 :erm:, he was that miserable we both remembered him!

Bacon Wrapped Meatloaf - mashed potatoes, port wine sauce and crispy onion rings $15

This was yummy, I stole a bit as well as it tasted sooooooo good. The mash was excellent (you will see a theme appear regarding my obsession with american mash, I need to find out what they do it, its amazing!)

Macaroni And Cheese $11

This was my choice, I am a big mac and cheese fan. This was yummy, and very comforting after a long day travelling. It doesnt look like a big portion on this photo, but it was huge and very heavy. I could only eat half of this!

111.jpg

Henry had the brownie for dessert, again delicious soft, chewy and fresh, and a rival for the best brownie ever coming up later in the trip ;)

112.jpg

I had the frozen yoghurt swirled with chocolate and vanilla, again this was great and refreshing. They didnt offer me any sprinkles though!

Pecos Bills

After much discussion on our first day in Magic Kingdom over which greasy counter service place we wanted to visit for lunch we went with the predictable choice of Pecos Bills (where for some reason I always call it Peco Bills? I think it sounds better!)

Henry went with the taco salad and I went with the cheeseburger, as you can tell we both went a little crazy at the toppings bar  loook at all the cheese . I love the toppings bar here. The taco salad is awesome as well (I had this later on in the trip).

We paid using the touchscreen computers using our key to the world, it was much faster and we cut out queueing.

For dessert Henry had the carrot cake (he always likes these). I had the yoghurt in a desperate atempt to be healthy :omg:

118.jpg

mmmmmm...I cannot wat to try the Baxcon Wraped Meatloaf...it always looks so good....:lovestruc

great start to reviews. We liked the Gatwick Vroom too - looks similar set up - unfortunately not able to sit in the adults area :)

Had our first WPE experience last year and it will become a must-do from now on. Looking forward to more

Cheshire Cafe

This was the first snack credit was used, and it was for a raspberry lemonade slush that we shared. It was yummy and at $3.69 a great use of a snack credit! I got brain freeze from drinking this too quickly!

Turf Club Bar and Grill

We fancied a quiet dinner on the first park day as we quessed we would be tired (and we were!). So we walked the 2 minute walk over to the turf club restaurant, we asked if we could site outside on the balcony and it was lovely and quiet with a only a few tables busy (I think it was busier inside).

We had a huge table for the two of us, we had to move our chairs around so we could talk to each other :d:

Henry had the Grilled New York Strip - with asparagus, red bliss potatoes and blue cheese fondue $30.49, and declared this as one of the best meals of the trip (at this point and at the end!;)). He said the blue cheese foundue was amazing

120.jpg

I had the Prime Rib - with Red Bliss mashed potatoes, broccolini, and red wine demi-glace $25.99 . It doesnt look very appealing in the photo, but it was delicious (and not as pink as in this photo). Lots and lots of beef and again delicious mash mmmmmmmm

119.jpg

Henry had the seasonal fruit crisp for dessert. It had a mixture of fruit in it, there were definetly strawberries! He really enjoyed this, it more like a fruit crumble than a fruit crisp that the other restaurants offered.

121.jpg

I had the sorbet assortment, the texture wasnt quite right for a sorbet but it was still tasty, I enjoyed all the fresh fruit in it as well :)

123.jpg

In summary we both thought the Turf Club was fantastic, the food was great, and we had great servers. The restaurant is lovely and quiet and I would say it has a slightly more adult atmosphere. A great choice to get away from the hustle and bussle of the parks. I wish they did a table service breakfast as well!

Love your reviews so far! Some day I may try that meatloaf at WPE ... we usually end up at EoS!

Looking forward to the rest!

Captain Cook's Snack Company

We spent the day in the pool and touring the monorail deluxe resorts and decided to go to Captain Cook's at the polynesian as it had an interesting menu. The place was chaos, with far too many people for such a small area. We went outside to get a table away from the noise and we were joined by a few ducks :)

Henry went for the aloha pork sandwich that came with asian slaw, he really enjoyed it

131.jpg

I had the cheese flatbread, not what I wanted but I couldnt think straight with all the noise! It was yummy though and not too heavy :)

130.jpg

Henry had the chocolate macademia gourmet cupcake for dessert, this was HUGE, he said it was ok but far too heavy.

128.jpg

129.jpg

I had the chocolate brownie it was fairly blah tbh, I had one later in the trip (by accident) and they were much nicer once they had been in the fridge

127.jpg

I didn't think much of Captain Cook's it was far too busy and was a bit tired tbh it could do with a revamp

Kouzzina

We went for a romantic stroll around the boardwalk and went to visit our wedding venue at the Yacht Club before dinner :kissing:

We loved Kouzzina, I *think* it was my favourite meal of the trip, the restaurant itself is lovely and we had a fab server. I would love to go back here!

Henry had the Kouzzina Trio - Tasting size portions of Greek-style Lasagna, Char-grilled Lamb Burger, and Cinnamon-stewed Chicken with Orzo $21.99. He liked all three, and they were big portions his favourite was the lasagne, I tried a bit but I didnt like the taste of cinnamon in savoury dishes?

135.jpg

I had the Wood-grilled New York Strip Steak - with fresh Herb Saltsa. This was meant to come potatoes but I asked if I could swap those for the smoked feta mash that came with one of the dishes (noticing my mash obsession yet??), and they did! This was amazing I loved it! The fresh herb saltsa was really tasty and smoked feta mash was OMG (I need to find out the recipe for this ). The cut of the meat was not quite as good as other places as there was a bit of fat, but there was so much it did not matter. I could have licked the plate here if it was socially acceptable :erm::tongue:

136.jpg

For dessert Henry had the A Sweet Ending to Your Celebration . . . Baklava - Traditional Walnut and Cinnamon Pastry with Pistachio Gelato $9.49, which he enjoyed, sorry for the rubbish photo the lighting is quite dark here!

142.jpg

I had the Chocolate Budino Cake - Warm Molten Chocolate with a raspberry sorbet. This was delicious, Henry was very jealous, although he did get half as it was too much for me!

141.jpg

In summary we loved it, fab restaurant and the menu is a little different from other disney dining places that we welcomed. The server explained to us the dishes can be hot, if we wanted seasoning taken off. None of them are I think the USA is a much lower tolernace for seasoning than what European's are used too.

Subscribing :thumbsup2

I know what you mean about mash over there, boyfriend and I both love it! Bubba Gump's at CityWalk do an especially good mash ;)

i'm loving your review!!!! thanks for taking the time to post your review and pictures!!!

a few questions for you:

what touch screen at pecos bill? can you order without standing in that long line?

where is the cheshire cafe?

is the turf club the restaurant at SSR?

is Kouzina one TS credit or two?

There are touch screen computers to the left of the queues, no one seemed to use them and you miss the long queues! You just can't pay cash with them

where is the cheshire cafe?
In fantasyland next to the tea cups :)

is the turf club the restaurant at SSR?

Yes :)

is Kouzina one TS credit or two?

One - great value on the ddp!

Hope this helps :)

Liberty Inn

We went for a walk around world showcase and it was very hot this day, so hot that we could not face the walk back to the mexican pavillion for lunch so ended up in Lberty Inn at the American pavillion. I got to indulge in my love of hot dogs here.....I know they are wrong but I love them

I had the chilli dog with fries, it was as I remembered wrong but sooo tasty, the squeezy fake cheese just topped it off ;)

149.jpg

The fries were too salty for me, but I often find the disney fries are (I never use salt in cooking)

Henry had the 1/3 Angus Smokehouse Burger - served with BBQ pulled pork, fried onion rings and American cheese with french fries $9.29. He loved it!

150.jpg

Henry had the apple crisp for dessert (I think these are the sames ones served at Columbia Harbour House?), he really liked but said it was very heavy

I had the S'mores mousse brownie, I had no idea what to expect but it was huge, if the hot dog didnt finish you off this would  it tasty but far too big!

151.jpg

I really liked Liberty Inn, the restaurant is pretty it was nice and quiet and they had lots of air conditioning!

I can't answer your other questions but I do know that Kourzina is 1 TS.

Thanks for this food review and the photos. DS has just fallen in love with the molten chocolate sponge pudding I think that will defo be one of his choices when we're there later on in the year.
