Mamma Melrose or Brown Derby????

Planning our Trip in Oct. and are looking at doing Fantasmic.
It will be Wife, Daughter (4yrs), Mom-in-law, Father-in-law, and myself.

Anyone have any thoughts on which would be better (MM or BD)?

Ive never done BD, but we are big fans of MM. In fact, we like it so much, we can never miss it to go somewhere else.

I prefer BD over MM because of it's centralized location and IMHO the quality of food is much better.

Of course, if you like true authentic italian food, MM is a great place.

Mama Melrose is very good. I haven't been to BD.

I had one bad experience at Brown Derby, but I'm glad we tried it again...lol....twice.

The food is excellent, from appetizers to main dishes. The service was great. I asked for a lobster tail with my steak. When the waitress brought it there were TWO tails on the plate. She said she noticed the lobster tail was a tad small, pointed it out to the chef, and they put another on.

If dining at BD, always ask, (and wait if need be), for a table in the main dining room. They have little rooms off to the side that lack all the atmosphere of the main dining room.

Another vote here for MM. We love it. And it is less $$ than BD.

we only planned on mm once, got there and left ( love itailan food, husband is italian but nothing appealed to us on the menu) but loved BD last trip. excellent food, great professional service that suited the theme ( ie they didn't sit at your table with you!)and loved the "elegance", silver coffee pot, ect.didn't feel amusment parkish at all. very relaxing

Thanks for all the feedback. Still waffling back and forth, but I don't think we can loose either way.
We have been to BD before (and loved it), but have not done Mamma's. So that might be the deciding factor.

We've done both, and I prefer BD. My DH actually says BD, no question. Most of us liked our meals at MM, but his was not that good - a seafood pasta dish. We also didn't have that great of service at MM.

I have done BD and MM, and I prefer BD. However since you have been to BD, MM could be a change of pace. BD is one of my favorite restaurants on-property.

We were very pleasantly surprised with the food at Mama's this trip (June 24-July 4) that we ended up eating here twice.
And the cost was very reasonable.

Your DD can chose a pizza--they will make up one however you want; and the rest of you can choose their wonderful Italian dishes.
Plus, they never charged us for our sodas either time so it must be included.
can't compare with the BD because that's one place we haven't tried. But Mama's was sooooo good to us!
