Sorry.. no left gin here..Ive got a 14 year old AND a 16 year old daughter.... (did I mention the my hubby and the OTHER kids too??)

Sending you good thoughts.... I can hardly wait until the teen age years. I think I have problems now with a 4 and 7 year old. Good thing my DH is a patient man:)

Things will look better in the morning. Either that or you have a killer hangover from your gin!

Linda

 my friend!

What?? I'm NOT the meanest mom!!!;) I hear that often from Nick(He's 9) I just can't wait for the teenage years!!
No gin here...would you like some virtual chocolate?::yes::

Sorry Joan, I will NOT allow you to rip that crown off of MY head!

My 14 year old DD truly believes that I am the root of all her problems (until she wants something, then I am ok!)

Congratulations! I've been trying for Meanest Mom for awhile now. DS, 7 yo, keeps asking why I don't want to be the nicest mom! :)

Hang in there. I remember being a 14 yo dd! My mom said raising me thru the teen years was harder than all 3 of my brothers combined! Hormones! :sunny:

I understand! DD4 has recently upgraded her "I don't like you!" to a stronger "I don't love you!"

Peggy

It sounds like we will all share that title from our DD's at one time or another. Mine is 11 but boy it feels like she is going on 16 sometimes. We did find out a couple of months ago that we weren't COOL parents, we were just normal. DH & I got a big laugh out of that one. Each day is a new surprise, we haven't had a conflict in the past couple of days, but then again she hasn't been feeling well. I'm sure we'll be starting up again soon. Keep the faith and remember we all are going to be dealing with it soon enough or are already in the middle.

ah teenagers...... gotta love 'em.......

today she has been very pleasant...... Yes I appreciate it!!

she is working diligently to regain her phone privlieges... Yes that is right I took the phone away from a teenage girl!!!
you would think I cut off her right hand!

She is also trying to bargain her way to an early end to her grounding period....... we shall see, she may be given an early parole with conditions... ...........
because when she is grounded.. I feel punished too! LOL

Thank you all so much for letting me vent. Thank you for all of the kind wishes and words!!

Nice to hear of another monther doing her job!
Enjoy the fame and infamy.

Ahh yes, that's a title I am proud to share ;)
And I will share with my fellow DIS mean mothers, this tribute to mean mothers :teeth:

Meanest Mother in the World...

I had the meanest mother in the world. While other kids had candy for breakfast, I had to eat cereal, eggs, and toast. While other kids had cakes and candy for lunch, I had a sandwich. As you can guess, my dinner was different from other dinners, too.

My mother insisted on knowing where we were at all times. You'd think we were on a chain gang or something. She had to know who our friends were and what we were doing.

I am ashamed to admit it, but she actually had the nerve to break the child labor law. That's right, She made us WORK! We had to wash the dishes, make the beds, and learn how to cook. That woman must have stayed awake at nights thinking up things for us kids to do. And she insisted that we tell the truth, the whole truth, and nothing but the truth.

By the tine we were teenagers, she was much wiser and our life became more unbearable. None of this tooting the car horn for us to come running; she embarrassed us to no end by insisting that friends come to the door and get us.

I forgot to mention that most of our friends were allowed to date at the mature age of 12 or 13. But our old fashioned Mother refused to let us date until we were 15. She really raised a bunch of squares. None of us were ever arrested for shoplifting or busted for dope. And whom do we have to thank for this? You're right, our mean mother.

I am trying to raise my children to stand a little straighter and taller and I am secretly tickled to pieces when my children call me mean. I thank God for giving me the meanest Mother in the World.

Our country doesn't need a good five-cent cigar. It needs more mean Mothers like mine.

Blessings on the wonderful woman for eternity!"

I think gin is the only type of alcohol that I absolutely hate. How can you stomach it? Oh yeah, your the Meanest Mother in the World. :o :p ;)

Just kidding! (((Hugs))) to you! Don't you just love adolescents? :D

I have a DS11 and I thought I was the only one that felt this way!!

Anbody remember an Animaniacs character named Katie Kaboom? Katie was a teenage girl who, at any moment could turn into a fire breatning monster with the slightest emotional stimulas, only to revert back again just as suddenly. This thread definitly brings back memories of Katie Kaboom cartoons.
