Mama Murphy LIVE from WDW POFQ/POP/BCV (Bad weather+Flight canceled=Longer trip!!)

Wow Erika, 14 days at WDW. You are so lucky. It was -19 as I was driving mid afternoon today, FL sounds great right now. What are you going to do on your solo trip? Will you venture to the parks, explore the resorts, relax at the pool, or just read a good book? Whatever you choose to do, have fun.:yay:

Wow...this is awesome!

Does the Poly seem busy? We stayed there this past July and Kona was never crowded(as far as we could tell) and our Ohana Breakfast was empty as well.

Tonight really wasn't a good night to check for crowds because of the cold weather. MK was like a ghost town, everything was a walk-on. At the Poly I did see people waiting for Ohana, and quite a few eating at Kona, but nothing I would consider to be abnormally crowded. I walked down to the beach to see the construction, there wasn't a single person anywhere around the resort, the pool, the beach, etc. Almost an eerie feeling! :scared1: The only living thing I saw was a gray cat running across the path towards the Hawaii building. LOL :rotfl2: That's one smart kitty. ;)

All of the above! ;)

Tonight I went to the Poly, MK, and then over to the YC. But tomorrow I'm returning my rental car so I probably won't be covering as much ground. I've got FP's scheduled tomorrow at AK and Wednesday at the Studios. Going to hit some roller coasters since Mom and I skipped all those last week. Also need to do laundry asap! Looks like I wouldn't have been able to fly to Indy tomorrow anyway, roads are closed and I'm guessing the airport will be as well. That helps me justify adding days, right???? :goodvibes :rolleyes1 :p

Chilly today!!! It's funny to see people all bundled up with hats, coats and gloves at WDW. :)

I'm headed to AK. :)

If I can pick anywhere in the whole world to be "stuck" I would pick WDW. You really did not need to go back to the mess at this point. Sounds like you are maximizing your time in the world for sure. So much fun! I usually have a rental car for that reason, I like to cover a lot of ground when I am there for my very short trips. But I'm sure your knowledge of the buses and other transportation will allow you to get around to where you need to be.
I am sure that you are looking forward to your family joining you this weekend.
Continue to have a blast, and report back any new findings.

I can sympathize - my family was "stuck in Disney" a few years ago, when returning home to Chicago around Christmas/NY.... We rented a car and booked an offsite hotel - our return flight was delayed 2 days so the kids missed two days of school.

We were also there when you were - we just got home 1/3 - we were in WDW from 12/26-1/3 and considered ourselves incredibly fortunate to get out of MCO on Friday the 3rd...considering all the other flights to Midway that had been canceled! Maybe I'm getting too old to be fighting the NYE crowds...but I really was happy to get home!

I ended up keeping my rental car because I've enjoyed the freedom of driving places. :) Nothing wrong with the buses, in fact I took a bus to AK today, but tonight I drove to DTD and went to the movies. I enjoy driving around property. I finally saw Frozen and it was AMAZING!!!!!!! Such a great movie, fantastic music, loved every minute of it! :thumbsup2 I went to the Fork & Screen and really enjoyed my meal. It was a great activity for a very cold night. Temp right now is 37 with a wind chill of 29, but it feels even colder out walking in the wind. I hope it warms up soon!!!

Today was the perfect day to be in a WDW park. Practically deserted! ::yes:: I had FP already booked for the safari, dinosaur, and EE but didn't need to use them because everything was a walk-on. After last week's insane crowds it was HEAVEN! :cloud9:

As far as new things, I tried to grab some pics of the AK construction, I'm uploading today's pics right now. Keep checking my photobucket for updates over the next few days. :)

The crowds last week were terrible I agree. Mom and I really didn't ride hardly anything except what we had a FP for. Lines for food and bathrooms and basically everything just really got on my nerves after a few days. We ended up taking things really slow, just walking around, people watching and shopping. Mom has bad knees and can't really fight the packed crowds that well ... I was thankful not to have my kids with me because they would have been miserable not being able to ride anything. When even the less popular rides have hour waits it is time to just give up and go home. ;) I think I'm getting cranky and impatient in my old age. :upsidedow The last 2 days have been great, I think I rode almost every ride at MK last night and covered everything at AK today very quickly. Tomorrow I'm hitting Epcot and the Studios, hoping to find it slow again. :goodvibes

Yeah, everything we did was with FP+, matter of fact, we rode TSMM at DHS for the first time ever because of FP+ (we never have gotten to the park early enough to get a FP before!). Enjoy your bonus trip, sounds like you're having fun!!

Wow Erika. Just wow!! I missed your live report!
You are so lucky to be in wdw!!! Enjoy it all again!

I just noticed your tweets, and came right over here to see what you were up to! Congratulations on your extra days! Enjoy!

Today was a great park day! The temperature finally warmed up and it wasn't too crowded. :) The runners have definitely started to arrive. Lots of marathon shirts and packets. I'm guessing the parks will be busier this weekend, especially with the warmer weather.

I just uploaded more pics to photobucket: http://s59.photobucket.com/user/ekmurphy12/library/Disney December 2013

Tomorrow I head to Beach Club Villas :cool1:

Hey Everyone :)

We had an AMAZING dinner experience tonight at Via Napoli. I contacted the manager a few months ago and inquired about a large group reservation. There were 17 of us. Gabriele Uberti did a fantastic job.... we were able to prearrange a family style meal at a fixed price and it was FABULOUS! We had salads, appetizers, pizzas, pastas, chicken parm, spaghetti and meatballs, gelato and tiramisu. :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes Absolutely STUFFED!!!!!!! I have never so much food in my life! We really got our money's worth, plus it was all amazing. The Chicken parm and the margarita pizza, oOOoOoooooooo man, and the tiramisu! :cloud9::cloud9::cloud9::cloud9:

Now all we need to cap off our evening is a Patriots win!!!! :cheer2:

Those who don't follow me on Twitter, we went to the new Spice Road Table today too. :) It's a really neat restaurant, beautiful decor, fantastic cocktails, and a perfect view of the lagoon. I have pics on my photobucket! :)
