Me: 42, Disney nut
Monkey: DD, 11 1/2 going on 30
KJ: 43 My darling aunt who won't arrive till the 23rd.
Bodyglide: The essential item for competitive runners & gals with heavy thighs - still have to pick up - our store was out!
Swan/Dolphin Sorority: Haven't you been reading about us on the Resorts board? If not, SHAME!!!!!
Well....after a year or more of planning, posting, saving (NOT enough!!), we are almost ready to go. The plane flies out in 6 hours. We have an hour drive to the airport & my mom is coming to pick me up at 2 a.m. Don't know what we'll do for 2 hours after we get to the airport, but since we have to travel through heavy deer country, we have to have enough time for emergencies. Somehow the idea of being dropped off at the airport in a tow-truck does not appeal to me.......
Maybe we'll just go sit at Krispy Kreme. I could kill a couple of hours there!!!
We each 2 suitcases full of clothing, a case with laptop & digital camera & a case full of just any other junk we couldn't fit in anywhere plus purses & a backpack. One of my friends lent me a huge heavy good quality rolling case & it borders on exceeding airline regulation weight all on its own!!! A slight panic upon weighing this item when the scale at home revealed its weight to be 49.6 pounds. Luckily Midwest Airlines lets you go up to 70 pounds. I'm slightly afraid that the rental car from Dollar may become a 'lo-rider' after stashing the suitcases in the trunk. Hoping the free class upgrade coupon will solve this problem. CROSS YOUR FINGERS!!! That's what happens when I try to plan for a 2 week trip - extreme overpacking.
DH went off to work a couple of hours ago so we got to tell him goodbye. DS (20) headed off to the big city (Mad-town) to visit friends - I got to tell him goodbye, but DD did not which resulted in DD being quite grumpy.
Our first flight is a jumper to Milwaukee on Midwest. I believe we are taking off in a crop-duster but I forgot to pick up goggles and a long scarf, but I should be ok if they don't have a dress code. I'm not sure if they serve their famous chocolate chip cookies during their wing-walking show, or if we have to wait for the jet portion of the trip for those. Luckily we have at least 12 minutes in Milwaukee to make it from our jumper flight to the jet to Orlando - the Orlando flight has already been moved up by 5 minutes. I have 2 smashed granola bars in my bag for breakfast on the plane. I swear---the gal from Midwest told me that yes, they served breakfast, but I would probably be better of bringing my own food.
Once we arrive in Orlando, get lost in the airport, retrieve a lo-rider and head to the Royal Pacific at Universal, I have only one plan. SLEEP!!! I'm just too excited to do it now. Can I post my Universal experiences here? Or will I be forced to the Universal boards?
