I am in the middle of booking my ADRs and want to add an Italian place.

I am a celiac and have a dairy allergy. I'm also a vegan.
My mom is gluten, dairy, egg, soy, legume-free (not a vegan).

What would you recommend? We'd like something more than just gluten-free pasta... Like if there was somewhere that did flatbreads, bruschetta, garlic bread, pizza...anything interesting.

I heard Mama Melrose might be a good one. Via Napolia says that they have a lot of flour flying around so I am not comfortable there, I don't think.

Any suggestions?!

Thanks!!!

Both are great! I would use AllEars.Net as your resource to figure out the menu choices as they are now and see if there is anything that you can eat on the menu. Disney is great at making accomodations, so when you do your reservations you can menu your dietary needs.

Mama's Menu

Check Out:
Goat Cheese-filled Ravioli - Poached in an Herb-Tomato Broth served with a Sweet Onion-Balsamic Relish $16.99
Mixed Greens - with dried cherry vinaigrette, candied walnuts, fresh pear and imported gorgonzola cheese $7.49

Via' Menu

Check out:
Lasagna Verde - spinach, parmesan, besciamella $20.00
Minestrone - vegetable & cannelini bean soup with basil pesto $8.00

Thanks Jessica.

I know they won't be able to make ravioli or all those cheesy things safe, though. They do sound appetizing!

First hand experiences of eating gluten and dairy free here would be great!

Thanks! I've looked at those. :) Just wanted to hear from first-hand accounts from people who've recently went there.

I haven't eaten there myself (I keep telling myself I should try it), but I believe that they use the Ener-G pizza crusts. It looks like those should fit your needs so they should be able to do some kind of flatbread with that. I'm not sure if they have any vegan cheese on hand or not to add that but they could certainly use the crust to make a bruchetta of some kind or load the crust with grilled or roasted veggies and do a cheeseless pizza. The allergy reviews seem to be pretty positive. If we could eat those crusts I'd certainly consider it (they have orangce citrus fiber which we can't do; stupid Ener-G and their orange citrus fiber).

We ate in Mama Melrose this past June & had a wonderful meal. My wife is Celiac (and I'm gluten-free , because I enjoy being close to her :rolleyes1 ). Almost anything on the menu can be made gluten-free, except for the pasta dishes that must be baked or per-assembled (lasagne, ravioli, etc). I had a tuna flatbread sandwich, my wife had clams & tomatoes. Both were excellent. Here is a link to their menu:

They are limited on the desserts, but about the same the other restaurants.

Sounds great!

clanmcculloch - thanks for the info, it sounds like they can do dairy-free easily.

frank430316 - good to know how allergy-friendly they are!

Now if only a space will open up on the two days I have left for my ADRs so I don't have to move things around...!
