mama melrose options

On our next trip to the World my dh would love to try Mama Melrose. The small problem is I'm very picky and after looking at the menu on Deb's site I think I'd much rather order off the kids menu. Will this be allowed or can adults order pasta your way too? Thanks

I can't say for sure of course but I found the staff at Mama Melrose to be very accomodating. We were delighted with our meal and the service we got. My 9 year old loves garlic bread and was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu and he was in a picky mood, he loves fish too but they either had none on the menu or he didn't like what they had. The waitress noticed he was having a hard time deciding and said "what would you have if everything you liked was on the menu" and he said "garlic bread, cod and fries" so she told us to hold and called the chef - he came down, spoke to my son and told us they had no fish at all but he would make up garlic bread from scratch specially for DS, fries were no problem of course but he also said he'd do a very plain pasta for him - we were thrilled and DS LOVED the garlic bread and pasta. That was long-winded, sorry, lol!!! But, in short, I'd say they'd have no problem with you ordering from the kids menu - of course, it might cost more.

Of course there is no guarentee of this but when we were there we had the waiter come up to handle a special request. Actually I just had a question about a dish and a drink that I had not remembered seeing on the menu but thought that it may have been. I just asked if they had ever served these items. It turns out they were not on the menu. The waiter literally stood there for minute in deep thought and at times taliking to himself. He was actually going over the ingredients of the request in his mind and deciding if he could accomodate the request. I certainly had not been adamant about getting the things and was not expecting this guy to do this. Shortly he arrived back at the table with the items. They had been specially prepared off menu just because I asked. Whatever some people think of the food the service is unrivaled.

We LOVE Mama's!!!

This past August trip we went on our first night, and our waitress was so awesome in explaining the dining plan to us, we were kinda clueless, how it worked, what you could get and all that good stuff~ Plus some of our party had never been there and she went over everything on the menu to a T, and the food.....YUMMY!!!!

While it is not written on the menu, you can get an adult portion of spaghetti...and its very good.

I am a picky eater myself and I love the 4 cheese pizza, chicken parm & pasta, and the penne alla vodka at MM.

The penne a la vodka was excellent when I went, but I can't imagine that they'd really mind substituting a more basic tomato sauce or even butter if you really want it.
