Mama Melrose - Later PS Time Question

I just called and tried to make a PS at Mama Melrose for our upcoming trip. I was told that the latest PS I could get was for 4:40PM which is way to early for us. I also asked about the package and was told no later than 3:30PM. I was told dinner hours were only until 8pm. This is for July when Fantasmic is at 9 and 10:30. I know in December we couldn't get a PS but walked in and was seated with in 15minutes and this was later in the evening. So what gives? Do they open later seating closer to the trip or have they shortened their hours?

Not sure if this will help, but I can at least sympathize with you. We are headed to WDW 6/1-6/6 and I've been trying to get a late seating for the Fantasmic Dinner Package for two weeks...just found out we were going 2 1/2 weeks ago. I prefer Hollywood and Vine or Mama Melroses since we'ver never tried either, but keep getting the same answer as you. However, I've been told by CMs at WDWdining and read here to just keep checking that they sometimes will extend the hours at the 30 day mark. Since I'm shooting for 6/5 I'm really hoping for some pixie dust soon! Maybe some will fall your way as well!

We are going to be there on 7/12/05 and 5:45 is the latest that our DU agent could get us a PS at Mama Melrose. I was hoping for a little later as that is the day that we are spending in AK and wanted to go to another park for supper, but I guess we will make due.

I got a 6:30 PS for Mama Melrose for 7-4.

I know it is not eay to do, but be patient and call back regualrly. We try to make as many PS's as we can 90 days out. We have an upcoming trip and we, too, were looking for a later PS at Mama Melrose's. We called about every other day for over two months until they opened up later PS's inside the 30 day mark. In fact, it was about 25 days out that we got our 7:20 PS. We were also planning on visiting another park in the morning and heading over to MGM later and a very early PS just didn't fit our plans, and we were not going to change. This has been a faily consistent problem for later dining times at MGM. Keep trying.

Definitely keep trying. I'll be there in less than two weeks . When I called at 90 days out all I could get for the Fantasmic Pkg at Mama Melrose's was 4:20pm. I called at 29 days and was again told they had nothing later, but the CM told me to try again about two weeks out as that seemed to be when they were opening more times up. I did so and was offered anything from 5:30pm-7:?pm. I took a 6:20pm.

I would try again at exactly 30 days out and then at 2 weeks out if needed. Good luck!

I have been calling just about every other day for an PS/ASR for Mama Melroses for the FDP. We have one already but it is for two reservations I could not get one for a party of six (2 adults 4 children under 10) so they did a party of 4 and then a party of 2. I Thought I was told that the were both for 4:20 and that they would be able to seat us together but found one is 4:20 and one is 4:30 and two different CM's told me they would not be able to seat us together. It is DH favorite place to eat and I am driving my self nuts trying to find an opening for the days we will be at DS.

The later PS times at MGM restaurants open up somewhere between 30 days and 3 weeks before the date you'll be dining there. This goes for the FDP times too. Yes, it's a pain, but at least if you know this is how it works you can call back when the time comes and get a later dining time.
