We have Mama Melrose booked for dinner and show in June. Question is we have 11 yr old and 14 yr old and nothing on the menu is looking good for them....They are both adults on the dining plan....I ask cm when making reservations if we could get them a burger or something and pay out of pocket and cm said there were always things not on the menu to just ask and be sure not to pay out of pocket and use your credit. If they get a burger or something like that I would hate to use a TS credit for that.:rotfl: I would rather save it toward at least a character breakfast....any one with any suggestions here...what other things might they have that will not be on the menu, and have you paid out of pocket for something like this?:confused3

Any help would be great!!!!

Generally, the price difference between more basic items and more intricate items isn't great enough to be worth paying OOP. Beyond that, figure a burger at a TS restaurant as nice as Mama Melrose will probably cost more than the vegetarian option available there. You're best off just using the TS there, even for a hamburger.

Please do be aware that while it is true that the TS restaurants will be very accommodating to personal tastes, they don't always have the capability of making whatever folks necessarily want. While a burger might seem simple, there may be reasons for the restaurant simply not offering that. However, the TS chefs are always very accommodating to personal tastes, and will work with a guest to try to come up with something that they can offer that will be acceptable.

Also, unless the rules have changed - each adult must order an adult entree in order to be eligible for the Fantasmic! Dining Special Seating, i.e. in order to get a pass, or coupon, or whatever they give you to show at the Fantasmic! Theater.

Yep, if you are eating at one of the 3 restaurants with the Fantasmic package, everyone MUST order an entree to get the voucher.

I ate at MM last year and didn't want to get my 6 year old an entree (light, picky eater) and was told I had to for the Fantasmic package.

Really? Even kids? That surprises me! When I looked into the FDP (and I'm well aware things change all the time :)) it only specified that all adults had to order entrees.

I was told everyone had to get a full meal, meaning appetizer, entree, dessert, and drink. It's a set price for the preferred seating package, and that's a per person charge.

But to the OP, I would be really surprised if there were hamburgers available there as they have no burgers at all on that menu. But the flatbread pizzas are made to order, so you could probably have one prepared as a standard type of pizza. My kids liked our cheese one last year. And the kids' menu includes really basic stuff like pasta, so your older picky children could eat an adult sized portion of that and stay on the package.

Most restaurants are pretty willing to accommodate your specific tastes, but I think for the package, you're going to have to do the package price to get the tickets, in which case it's wise just to use the DDP to pay. The package makes no distinction between cheap or expensive choices--it's all the same.

If you are doing the Fantasmic Dining Package you are going to be using the dining plan or paying these prices per allears:

Mama Melrose: Ages 10 and older $32.99 (plus tax and gratuity); children ages 3-9 $11.99 (plus tax and gratuity). You will be able to choose from the regular menu as of this date.

Adult meal includes appetizer, entree, dessert and non-specialty, non-alcoholic beverage. Children must order from Children's Menu, and have a choice of soup or salad, entree, dessert and child's beverage.

The package is a fixed price meal that everyone who is going to the show has to have. You only get entrance into the show based on the number of packages purchased.

Thanks so much for this information, I was totally unaware of this.....what are the other two restaurants that offer the package....is hollywood and vine...at least it is a buffet and maybe the kids will like something there. If I can still change my reservation...was hard to get a time when I booked Mama Melrose.
