Mama Melrose Fantasmic package???

There will be 6 adults and 1 5yr old in the World the last 2 weeks in January.

We will have the dining plan. Will the Mama Melrose package be covered by the dining plan? Is it only 1 TS credit per person? Will it be necessary at that time to have the package?

The menu looked pretty good on allears. Does anyone have an opinion on it?

We have ADRs for September for the Fantasmic Package at Mama Melrose. This will be our first time eating there so I can't help you with how good it is (I have seen mixed reviews). But, I do know this package is covered by the dining plan and it is 1 TS credit per person.

We did the Fantasmic Package last year at Hollywood and Vine. It was pretty good but we wanted to try something different. We liked having the package because we did not have to stand in line to get into Fantasmic and could walk in about 30 minutes before the show started and had no problem finding a seat in the special section roped off for the packages. I also liked it because the section was right near the exit so we could quickly get out of there when the show ended. One time it took us a LONG time to get out of the park and catch the bus back to the resort. We felt like we were cattle.

I have never been to WDW in January but from what I hear in terms of crowds, you may not need the package. However, if you were going to eat at MM anyway, you may as well get the package because you pick from the same menu and it is costing the same 1 TS credit.

I know as previously stated that Mama's is included in the FDP,but we ate there last December for our package and I was not impressed. I love Italian food, and to me it just wasn't what I expected. Boring sauce, not enough flavor. That might depend on your taste though. I would highly recomend the 50's prime time cafe not only for the atmosphere, the food choices are great! I think the 5 year old and the adults will really enjoy it and the shorter walk to the fantasmic theater.

We loved the food at MM. My only complaint is that the service was VERY slow that night and I was starting to freak out about getting to Fantasmic. We had a 5:30 ressie and it was close to 8 by the time we got done. The table across from us paid at the same time we did. They noticed they had our receipt so we switched. I know it was careless of me not to call the waitress over, but as I mentioned, I was freaking out! The next night we ate at Tony's in MK. The waiter came over after running our cards and said I only had one TS left, not three, so we would have to pay for the other two. It turns out that not only were we given each other's receipts at Mama's, but the waitress had scanned both tables on my card! We had to go back to our resort and they printed up our meal expenditures. Sure enough, three meals were charged to our card the night before, followed by two more seconds later. Luckily the resort was very helpful and credited our credit card back for the 2 dinners we paid for at Tony's. I would go back in a second to Mama's for the food, but I'd give myself more time and have learned the importance of looking at those recepts CAREFULLY!

The only restaurants that offer the Fantasmic Package are Mama Melrose (1 TS), Hollywood and Vine (1 TS) and Brown Derby (2 TS).

Wehave the dining plan and are eating there with the fantasmic dinner package...it only counts as ONE TS! How can they mess up pasta/bread and salad!!?? We will all be eating there...including DH, DD 12, DS 2...we are excited about it! I have heard good things about this restaurant...but, of course, I am sure there are differing opinions!

We had dinner at MM a couple of weeks ago. It took much longer than I had anticipated - over two hours. Most of that time was spent just waiting for the next course. We each had just a bite or two of dessert because we had to leave for Fantasmic. The food was okay. I did like the restaurant decor. Considering everything we won't return there.

We ate dinner at Mama Melrose two trips ago and we were not at all impressed. The service was decent, but the food was not good. On the upside, the decor in the restaurant was kind of cool.

This is my families new favorite TS in MGM. We loved the Fantasmic package. The food was great and definately will go back again.
