So, from reading these boards, I know Mama Melrose has its share critics. But there also seems to be people who really like it. I got to thinking that maybe this is all about what people order.

We are going with the Fantasmic Dinner Package. For those of you who like MM - what's good - appy, dinner, dessert. And, can I get the frozen cappuccino as my dessert or beverage on the DDP?

Any thoughts on the kids meals???

Thank you so much for the valuable input.

at MM for the first time about two weeks ago on the Fantasmic dining package. It was good.

Since this is the only time we have been I can only comment on the items we ate.

Appetizers - my son and I split the calamari for two. I was pleasantly surprised with it and wouldn't hesitate to order it again. My son who had never had calamari before and he liked it. My wife had the mixed green salad which she really liked. She gave me a bite and I agree with her. My daughter had the kid's salad.

Entrees - My son had the carne d'italia flat bread. He liked it but he didn't like the italian sausage or the pancetta and pulled them off. My wife had the strip and thought it was okay. My daughter had the kids pasta with meat sauce. She ate half of a large portion indicating she liked it. I had the pork chop. It was cooked a little more than I like but that's common at restaurants. I'm fine with 145 degree internal temperature and many places serve it nearer 165. The grill gave it a slight smokey flavor which was nice. The mac and cheese was really good. I was saving room for dessert so I didn't have much of the broccoli rabe.

Dessert - My son and I each had the cheesecake. Apparently, I am the only one in my family that likes amaretto. I liked my cheesecake. My wife had the chocolate cake with canolli filling which she thought was just okay. My daughter had the spaghetti and meatball cupcake. It's pretty entertaining design. My wife tries all three desserts and thought the cupcake - chocolate with a strawberry sauce - was the best one.

Mamma Melrose is a great restaurant, it is a must for us every trip. My entire family loves the baked chicken parm. It is the best I have ever had. I don't remember too much about the desserts.

I had the Chicken Pipette Wood-grilled Chicken Pasta.... It was very good and large. I could not finish it. It was huge. My kids had the chicken parmesan and loved it. DH had the grilled tuna that was overcooked even he requested rare. He said that the rice was good.

We love MM, it is our go to restaurant when we are at DHS. I like the chicken parm, however I wish they would put a bit more sauce on it, and I really like the flat breads. For an app I always get the minestrone soup and for dessert I like their chocolate gelato .

I had the best caesar salad of my life at MM. I'm thinking of going back just for that.

We did the F! package last Sept and MM was fairly good. I had the Caesar salad for an app it and it was just ok. The Oven-baked Chicken alla Parmigiana was VERY good and then I had the Gelato for dessert and it was a little grainy. I don't remember what DH got but I do know he liked his main entree a lot. The portions were HUGE! I was shocked at the amount of food.

If we do the F! package again next year I would definitely go back to MM :)

That Pipette pasta dish (with chicken, or I think we've also gotten shrimp) is the only "good" thing we've gotten at MM -- and it was VERY good. The chicken parm and other things we've had there were all "okay". Not terrible by any means, but not impressive. That pipette dish, though, is really good.

:thumbsup2 I'm not a fan of the sauce there (doesn' agree with me) but I'm picky where sauce is concerned, so I tried the Chicken Pipette and I love and it loves me!

We did the F! package for the first time last month and LOVED it!

The BEST thing of the evening was the steak. The chicken and pasta were okay but the steak was the most amazing one I had all week. I normally don't eat red meat much anymore but because we were on vacation I had steak at 4 different places over the course of our vacation. This beat out Citrico's, La Hacienda and Le Cellier.

Hope this helps some! :)

I really love the Chicken Parm. and often ask if I can get the marina sauce switched out with alfredo sauce. Yummy!

I like the chicken parm a lot.

Also I might be in the minority here, but I like the "tiramisu in a glass" dessert.

the pork chop. nice and juicy!!! wasn't crazy about the "bread pudding" side (really stuffing).. I would substitute something else

Does it actually taste like real tiramisu? I loved their tiramisu from a couple of years ago that looked and tasted like normal tiramisu. The last time we went I didn't even look at the menu when I ordered and when I ordered the tiramisu the server told me that it had changed, explained what it now was and told me that it wasn't that great and nothing like the last tiramisu. I'd love to hear from someone that actually tried it.

I like the stack of eggplant and mozzerella, but I am not sure if it is still on the menu?

We loved the calamari! I loved the chicken parm and DH loved the goat cheese ravioli. I didn't care for the tiramisu because it's not real tiramisu.

Thanks for all the replies so far! I am getting excited about eating here.

Does anyone know if the Appetizer for 2 can be ordered for just one person for the F! package? I would like a salad but DH wants to try the calamari.

The dessert has all of the tiramisu flavors, but its an icecream dessert. So, if you are looking for traditional tiramisu you will be really disappointed. Its basically tiramisu flavored icecream served in a glass over espresso with a lady finger cookie topping it off. Personally, I love frozen desserts like this and so it really hit the spot with me.

When I was there not long ago the tiramisu ice cream has been changed to a Tiramisu flavored panna cotta. It was great!!! And the pork chop is now served with a 5 cheese mac & cheese.
