I had read so many mixed reviews of Mama Melrose that I almost didn't make the reservation but did so with the Fantasmic package. We arrived 20 minutes late (we were on Toy Story Mania and it broke down) but they were very nice about it and seated us almost immediately. Our waiter was Kevin and he was the best, I can't say enough wonderful things about him. As we were on the Fantasmic package we got appetizer, entree and dessert with a drink. He encouraged us to get 4 different appetizers and share, which we planned to do anyway. The appetizers were huge! We got the Artisian bread, Calimari, Bruchetta and Cesaer Salad and all were great, we couldn't have finished them it was so much. For entrees we got the steak, pork marsala and chicken and shrimp pasta (it was chicken or shrimp but Kevin said no problem to having both), all the food was again fantastic, and again large servings. We finished with dessert, lemon custard, cheesecake, gelato and tiramisou and again it was just great. It was our best meal, our best service and I highly recommend it.
I must also say that we went to Boma and the food was good but our waiter was horrible, never replenished a drink, never asked how everything was and only cleared the dishes as he left the bill. Very disappointing for the place we thought would be our best meal.

Could you please tell me if it's 1 or 2 credits for the Fanstamic Show package at Mama Melsore? Thanks

We were not on the dining plan. We did the Fantasmic package where you get dinner and then reserved seating for the Fantasmic show. Sorry I can't help you.

Going in September. First time on DDP (cause its free!!! ) First time @Mama Melrose. Have done the Fantasmic Dinner Package @Hollywood & Vine several times. Its my understanding that the Fantasmic Dinner Package @Mama Melrose (and Hollywood & Vine) is only 1 TS credit (Brown Derby is 2 TS credits.) Is the menu @Mama Melrose different when you are doing the Fantasmic Dinner Package with DDP??? :confused3

Thanks for the current review:banana: ...and so glad to hear a good review for Mama Melrose...we have the Fantasmic pkg in Sept.

BTW, it is supposed to be same menu with DDP (1 TS credit for sure, too.):thumbsup2

Have been there three times...most recently December 2007. Lots of variety of food including a kid buffet area. Worth it to get the Fantasmic package especially if you are going at a busy time of year! :thumbsup2

If Mama Melrose is only one credit that's a great deal. I didn't eat there but we looked at their menu last time and saw far too many carbs that I would just love to munch down :lmao: it looked like a really tiny restaurant how many tables would you say they have?

Mama Melrose is definitely one credit...we've done it three years in a row (we gave up on H&V after two consecutive horrible experiences and do not think Brown Derby is worth two credits). So glad that you enjoyed Mama Melrose. We've always had good food and good service and can't wait to be there in September.

We adore Mama Melrose's! We've got 3 adrs there during our 10 day free dining trip. :goodvibes I'm so glad you had a great meal!!!

We went to Mama Melrose last month on our trip! We also thought it was great! The food was very good. DH said it was the best meal of the trip for him. He had the "Spicy Italian Sausage with rigatoni pasta, peppers, onions, and a tomato basil sauce topped with caprino cheese" and I had the "Wood-grilled Chicken tossed with Pipette pasta with artichokes, peas, roasted red peppers in a basil and four cheese cream sauce". Mine was very good also. It was way too much food though! We also got the appetizers because we were on the Fantasmic package. The kids had the spaghetti, so that was a nice change from burgers and chicken for them!

Unfortunately we didn't have as good of luck with the service as you did. Our waitress was VERY slow. We were in there for 2 hours. Too long in my opinion. But the food was so good that I'm sure we will be back! I wrote a review of it in my Dining Report:

Glad you enjoyed Mama Melrose too!

We've booked the Fantasmic package as well. I can't wait to go! what time was your resevation? How long was it before the start of Fantasmic?

I'm not sure if you were asking the OP what time her ADR was or just anyone! But mine was at 5:20pm. When I called to make the ADR (180 days out) I was told that the latest time they had was 5:20pm. We were wanting more like 6:00. Good thing we had the 5:20. We were there until nearly 7:30. So we still had plenty of time, almost an hour before we were headed to Fantasmic around 8:20.

So happy to hear these reviews!! There have been so many mixed reviews and I was a little worried about booking it for our upcoming December trip, but you all put my mind to rest.

Thanks....:)

MM is for sure 1TS - we just booked it with the Fantasmic package for November. Our reservation is for 4:45 and the show is at 7:00 so I think that's enough time. How long did all of you wait in the reserved seating line? The rep from Disney told me to come 10 minutes prior to the start but it sounds like from some other posts that I should come 30 minutes prior. Any opinions? Thanks!

I was asking the OP, but you told me what I wanted to know :rotfl:

Thanks!

Enjoyed reading your review ~ Thanx for posting.

Our reservation was for 4:10, I know early but they told me that the Fantasmic reservations were early. We were 20 minutes late, as we were stuck on a down Toy Story Mania, and they were super nice about it and we were seated in about 7 minutes (long enough for all of us to use the restroom). We had to be at the Fantasmic entrance at 8:30 and we were at MM for a good hour and 1/2. We will definately be adding MM to our fav restaurants list and will make reservations there when we go back.
