Mama Della's Ristorante for christmas eve

Hey all,

We are going to UO for the Holiday season and will be staying at the HRH. I want to have dinner at Mama Della's Ristorante at the PBH on Christmas Eve. Has anyone eaten there and what is your opinion of the food service and the atmosphere. Do they have any special menu items or events for the holidays. Do they try to introduce any of the traditional items for that time of year? Any input or opinions would be great.

I've eaten here, but not a Christmast time.

I thought the food was great and we loved the atmosphere there.

We went in February and the weather was chilly. We walked into Mama Della's and it had a very warm and cozy feeling.

Thanks for the info FloraFauna. We tried to get a reservation last New Years eve but it was kind of a last minute thought and it was booked. Going to make plans to go now.

We love Mama Della's and have never been their on a Holiday, but they have violinist and accordian players who take requests and its not extremely loud but a warm atmosphere.

We have reservations here for New Years Eve 2009m and are looking forward to it.

Thanks for the input BelleBeast...We tried for New Years eve last minute last year. We're leaving on the 30th to come back home. Have a nice trip and a Happy New Year.

We ate there in January and LOVED it. The service is great, the atmosphere is like being in a big Italian home with all kinds of lovely little antiques and knick-knacks, and the food was really wonderful. You can call them and ask about their holiday menu. We plan to eat there every time we go back to USO/IOA. Restaurants are a very important part of our trips, and we really loved Mama Della's.

We just got back last week and Mammas is now a must do on every trip.Momma actually seats you at your table.These people really made us feel as if we were family.The waitress(Gina)seemed like an old friend that we knew forever and the roving singers/musician might have you laughing in the aisles.They were all so good.The food was also pretty good.I live in an Italian town in R.I. and I can say that it was just as good our maybe better than home.I had the veal parm and it was huge,2 veal steaks on a bed of pasta.My wife had the chicken marsala and she loved it.I can't tell you about desert because we were just to full to order it.
Another good meal right next door was Sals.We thought that they had some pretty good pizza.Just another option for another night but don't miss going to Mamma Dellas,it's the best!

Thank You for the info PetefromRI I have sent an email to the concierge at the HRH to try to make a ressie for christmas eve. I have a feeling it will be a great time.

I've had a couple of good meals in RI when I've been in town on business. I've eaten up on "Federal Hill", Atwells Ave in providence and just had another meal in Bristol (seafood) last week. You have no shortage of good retsurants in your area.
