Maldives - Anyone flown with Sri Lanka airline?

We're just about to book for a Xmas treat to the Maldives and the only flights available are with Sri Lankan Airlines. Whilst their website makes even economy class look very nice and comparable with BA and Virgin, it's always useful getting the views of someone who's used them.

So, please, if you have let us know.

Or if you've been to the Maldives, let us have your views.

MrsDazzle We're off to the Maldives( Veligandu) in 32 days with Qatar Air so can't help with Sri Lankan sorry. Try www.airlinequality.com which reviews all airlines, airports etc. Will let you know about "our" resort if you like........

We flew with Sri Lanka airlines a few years ago to Sri Lanka and thought they were great. I am sure the seating arrangement was 2 4/5? 2. The air stewardesses were extremely pleasant and food was good! Drinks were served from big bottles and they pured generous measures! We had a couple of hours stop over in Dubai which gave us time to check out the deals in the airport.

Wendy - I've looked at the thread Gilld put up and I have to be honest there were very very few negative comments from passengers on Sri Lanka Airlines, so fingers crossed they'll be good to us too, and everyone commented on the space in economy (last four years travelling with Virgin PE is what's made me a little nervous, I guess ).

Just waiting for confirmation from our agent that the resort we want is booked and then it's waiting for December to come around
