Hello!
I have made a few shirts with dark transfer paper. (Stick family design, white background) The 100% cotton shirt looks perfect. The transfer on 50/50 shirts look "worn out." The shirts are all black. Same transfer paper.
The "worn out" shirts looks okay, like it supposed to be that way. But, next to the other with a pure white background it doesn't look right.

Do you think this is due to the 50/50?
Thanks for the help!:)

I don't think so as most of my shirts were made 50/50 and they were ok and still are after many many washings. Did you wash them differently before ironing the transfers on? Other than that, I don't have a clue. Maybe someone else will be able to help you. I have done many many shirts and it so far hasn't happened..I'm sorry you didn't get the look you wanted..

Thanks for the reply, the shirts were washed together (no softener,etc.). The only difference is I used the parchment paper from the package for the 50/50 and I used a different kind (bought in the grocery store) for the all cotton.
I will look for new shirts for DS4 and DH, all cotton, and try again. I will use the new paper, not the one w/the transfer paper though. Anyone think that could be it?

Thanks for the help!:flower3:

I wouldn't think the parchment paper has anything to do with it, but...that is just my opinion....one time I didn't even use paper...

Sometimes it just happens. I don't know why. :confused3 Some of the ones I did came out vibrant and crisp and some didn't. I figured it was because of a defect in the transfer paper? :headache: I only use the shirts from AC Moore and they are all 50/50? Penny:hippie:

Just an update...

I did three more black shirts. The two all cotton turned out great, the 50/50 looks faded. Shirts all washed together, same package of transfer paper, printed from computer at same time, same parchment paper.

I am now an all cotton convert.

Off to get DH and DS an all cotton black tee.
Hope this info helps someone!
