:banana:so we are going in June and this is thrid trip but first time doing dining plan ....sooooo my question is we are more random and hate to plan which park we will be in each day and would rather just decided day by day so do ou really need to make res before you go or can you just walk-in and ask for a table..thanks

The quick answer to that is no. Most sit down restaurants will be booked pretty far in advance. I think you will get the most out of the DDP if you book in advance. If you don't make reservations I'm afraid your are going to feel the dining plan is a waste because you won't be able to easily use the table service portions.

I think that if you want to eat at "regular" dining times and/ or at the more popular restaurants, you should make ADRs. Especially on the dining plan, I wouldn't want to risk losing credits.

If you really don't care at all where you eat, you could probably wing it and use up your dining credits. But you'll spend time finding places to eat each day. You may not like or care for the options available at that time as June is a busy month. If there is any place you really want to go or if you want to try a character breakfast, you should make the ADRs in advance. There are a few places that do not take ADRs but do take the dining plan like ESPN or Beaches & Cream where you can use up credits.

Personally, if I were on the dining plan, I would make ADRs just to have something in place and make changes as the rest of the daily plans come together. It would annoy me to no end to waste meal credits I paid for in advance.

Well....honestly....that could be pretty hard in June. If you were going in January or the off season I might say go for it. There are restaurants that you can walk up to and get a table, but the popular places like LeCelier, CRT, Ohana, Cali Grill, HDDR, etc are almost impossible to get in. Now...that's not to say that it can't be done. I read post from people that say they walked up to Ohana and got in:confused3 We always do the Dxdp and there are certain places that our family wants to go, so we always make ressies. I'm going to agree with Stitchlover...you might think the DDP is a waste of money if you go and can't get into any restaurants. Maybe you should at least make a couple of ressies:confused3

I think I will agree with the others and say that if you wish to eat at alot of the TS restaurants then make some reservations right now. Some places book so fast and the chances are remote that you would get into the ones you want to eat at. Make some reservations and know that your DDP will be able to be used in some of the restaurants you wish.

and have a great vacation

I do most of mine on line. Either that or I e-mail my Dream Agent and she get my ADR's.
