Making ADRs without park hours/party dates

I am planning a trip for Nov 10-16, which sounds crazy I know bc we don’t know if Star Wars will be open or not and I’m really nervous about this but this is when the people in my party want to go. So, I’m trying to plan out a rough itenerary so we can get some idea of where and when to book ADRs come May. Correct me if I’m wrong, Disney doesn’t release park hours until 180 days out? And then those are tentative to change bc the MVMCP dates won’t be released until like August?? We weren’t planning on going to a party. So Planning around these parties is going to be a huge pain in the butt and now I’m thinking I should’ve booked a different week, without any MVMCPs! Now it seems like we may only have 1 or 2 chances to see Fireworks. Will I be able to book a fireworks dessert party at 180 days? I’m confused and frustrated.

Also, to add on another question. If I book an ADR for 6pm on a party night, would I be allowed to enter MK aeound 5pm without a party ticket?

Typically the parties are Sun, Tues, Thurs and Fridays but your week it may be on Monday because of Columbus Day. If they have released the dates for the dessert party at 180 days then you can book it. I would plan on a Wednesday for the dessert party. and I would not chance the 6pm ADR on a party night - there may not be availability for that anyway as they may be for party guests only

In 2018 MVMCP went on sale March 19. Halloween party tickets are already on sale. Christmas party dates should be known before you make your Adrs in may. :santa:

That week in Novmeber is typically a good week to go. The weather is nice and the crowds are manageable. I'm sure that may depend on star wars this year.

You can book dessert parties at 180 days out. We did the dessert party at magic kingdom this past November. During our 4 night trip, 3 nights were party nights so it was worth it to us to see the show for our first time.

Will I be able to book a fireworks dessert party at 180 days?

The different parks/fireworks parties have different patterns of when they are available for booking. The three MK dessert parties have been in a pretty consistent pattern of being bookable 180 days out for awhile now. BUT, there have been times in the past where it jumps off that schedule (and it becomes a waiting game for when new dates get posted). The Frozen/Illuminations party, as another example, has a totally erratic pattern of when dates become bookable and dates are pretty much never loaded that far in advance.

And then those are tentative to change bc the MVMCP dates won’t be released until like August??

In 2018, MVMCP dates were announced 3/19/2018. In a rare move, Disney just released MNSSHP dates last week - a good 2+ months earlier than last year. Not sure how they'll handle MVMCP dates this year. But I suspect they'll be out sometime soon and you'll know party dates well before your ADR window.

Disney doesn’t release park hours until 180 days out?

This is correct, Disney posts new hours on a rolling 180 day basis on their website. Sites such as Touring Plans and Kenny the Pirate post hours in advance of this, presumably from sources and/or educated guesses.

We find it helps to make a general plan (i.e. a structure of different days), and make things 'official' once park hours and additional other event schedules are released.

It does correspond well with ADR day so it works well.

They sure don't make it easy huh?

The initial hours released are likely to change the month before your trip, or at least they have for the last year or two.
