Making ADR's to include our offsite friends?

My family and another family will be traveling to Disney World together (both with DDP, but we are staying onsite and our friends offsite. My question is when I make our ADR's 180 days + 10 in advance, can I book for a party larger than my own family's so I can include our friends? or do I have to wait until 180 day out to book this?

I may be wrong, but I did not think you could purchase the DDP if you are staying offsite.
Your friends staying offsite could still make ADR's. If you are staying onsite I think you could make the ADRs for everyone the times you are all eating together and then get separate checks. You could pay with DDP and they would pay OOP.

Your friends staying offsite can't get the dining plan.

If people could do that, then all the locals who live around WDW would get on the dining plan whenever they felt like it! I know I would!

As I read the question, the answer is yes.

You can book a table at 180+10. To the best of my knowledge, there's no rule saying that everyone in the party needs to be staying on site, just the person making the reservations.

And your party can have some people on DDP, some not. But, as others have mentioned, your friends aren't on the DDP if they're off site.

Sorry I should have said that we will be on DDP. Our friends will be paying OOP. I was just wondering if we could make reservations 180 days out + 10 that could include them. Thanks for all the replies.

Yes you can make ressie for your party, no matter where they are staying at the 180 day mark as long as you are staying on property.

The dining people won't know how many are in your party. If you have four in your party and want to make a reservation for eight, you can certainly do that.

We've often met friends at Disney World and had dinner together. We make the reservation for the entire party even though we might be in different resorts or one is offsite.
