I had planned to just have Thanksgiving as a day of R&R, but just found out that DH was thinking just the opposite and wants to go to a park on our last full day.

Because I'm wanting to avoid MK and EP (fearing for crowd levels), that leaves AK or HS, but I'm not a big fan of the restaurants at either.

I'm leaning more towards HS, so where would you suggest going for Thanksgiving dinner (either at park or at one of the HS resorts)?

Thanks so much for any advice!! :worship:

We are hopefully doing the Hollywood and Vine Fantasmic pkg that day. I have read mixed reviews on H&V, but I am willing to chance it. We have 12 people, 6 whom are smaller kids. Not going to wait forever in a sit down restaurant on Thanksgiving with them all.

Just sent my final list of ADR's to my TA last night!!! We get to book sunday AM as well. Good Luck!!! :)

Go to Boatwrights at POR, then after dinner hit the lounge to see yehaa Bob. You won't regret it.

We normally go to AK on Thanksgiving. If you are there early, the crowd is very manageable. We had a great time that day. We had dinner at Jiko and it was delicious.

We have also done Crystal Palace at MK (never again--too crowded!!!) and Whispering Canyon Cafe. Great atmosphere and the lobby is beautiful and all decked our for the holidays.

In 2007, we had Thanksgiving dinner at 50's Prime Time and it worked out great...reminded me of Thanksgivings at Gram's house when I was little, except for once we were watching tv shows I liked instead of football:lmao:. They had a special T-day meal (turkey+fixings) and the full regular menu, which was also great because most of us didn't want turkey:thumbsup2

Thanks Epcot4Me -- was just coming back back to post that DH had also suggested 50's since we won't be with our own "crazy" family. Did anyone in your party have the turkey meal? Just curious as to how it was.

I also like the idea of Boatwright's, though. How long does it take to get there from HS?

We're going to HS - definitely avoid MK. Dinner will be at Chef Mickey's...I hope. We are a family of 9, so we voted on where to go for dinner and CM won. I make ADRs on 8/26 so we'll see. After dinner we'll walk to MK for parades and Wishes. Pretty much all of the restaurants offer a traditional Thanksgiving meal as well as their normal offerings. Buffets work best for us because there's something for everyone in our extended family.

Not long at all! maybe 15 min tops(by bus). POR is right next to EPCOT and HS. Boatwright's does a totally traditional TG dinner (turkey, yams, green beans, mashed potatos, cranberries, etc.), even with my big apetite I was stuffed after.

I'm considering a resort meal for Thanksgiving, as well. I'm thinking if the boys and I are up early enough, we can take in a park (probably HS), then back to the resort to relax, then go to dinner. I know we'll end up at ESPN late-I'll need my turkey day football fix.

Wondering if Cape May would be a good choice? Characters and Thanksgiving dinner? or maybe something at the Swan or Dolphin?

DH would be just as happy to have a relaxing day at the resort (off-site) and not bother with Disney, at all (except for ESPN). But, if I can convince him there's a great meal waiting- he might go for it. Our boys are eight and six, the youngest has sensory integration disorder. Also, something to consider, is the crowd and noise levels- as well as lighting conditions in the restaurants. He's done well at Crystal Palace and Boma...

I am pretty sure the characters are only at Cape May for breakfast. I think it's a clam bake at night.

I think resort dining that night is the way to go. Leave the park around 4pm or so for an early dinner. The parks just get too crowded that night.

I'm trying to decide the same thing too. I can make my ressie's this Friday and I still have no idea where. I was thinking maybe Ohana. I read that they have Turkey dinner served family style.
