A friend of mine called this morning to make her ADRs at her 90+10 window. First of all, she was making 8 ADRs and was on the phone for 28 minutes! Yikes!!! She told me something very strange happened to her. After she made her first 6 ADRs, she had to give her credit card for confirmation before the CM would make the final two. She was so nervous that she would not get her times. Everything turned out, but I am confused about needed her credit card. Her ADRs are for CM, Y&Y, Norway breakfast, CP, Park Fare, H&V, 'Ohana, Coral Reef.

Any comments or explanations??????

She's may be doing H&V as the Fantasmic Dinner Plan...I had to have a CC for confirmation of our ressie for Brown Derby FDP.

One of the restaurants on her list likely requires a credit card for reservations - I know several of the signature restaurants do, such as Artists Point and California Grill.

The Noraway Breakfast requires a credit card. But they aren't charging her card right now, they are using it to hold the reservation and if she doesn't show up she will be charged a fee (don't remember what it is, maybe $10 per person).

It is done for the most popular restraunts to encourage people with reservations to cancel if they cannot make it instead of just not showing up.

The only signature restaurant that requires a credit card guarantee is California Grill. Artist Point does not.

Of the ADRs your friend made, the breakfast in Norway does and if her Hollywood and Vine was for the Fantasmic pkg, then it did also.

As for the 6 + 2 thing, I hear that's what they're doing now - reservations in blocks of 6 maximum, to ensure they don't "lose" the reservations in the new reservation system. Some sort of workaround they've been doing recently.
