Making ADR's for a split stay?? UPDATE post 32!! We did it!!

I have a split stay and called yesterday at my 90 day mark to the normal disney dining number. I was told by two different CM's that the old system would let you make all your reservations 90 +10,even with split stays, but the new system that is in effect for stays from the end of May on will not. I have a room only for one night followed by a 7 nt. pkg and was told I could only make ADRs for that 1st stay yesterday. I called back today to make the rest of my ADRs and asked again to speak with a supervisor to confirm what I was told yesterday. The CM supervisor again told me that the new system, unlike the old one, recognizes end dates to your stay and therefor in my case only can see me checking out the next day and not see me checking back in. She said that everytime you have a split stay from now you will have to call back for ADR's at the start of every split. I asked about the +10 and she said yes, that is still in effect, IF your one reservation is 10 or more days, but if you have shorter ones, you will still have to call 90 days from the start of each reservation regardless of how long your total stay is. I made sure to voice my displeasure to this change!
I still don't get it because my ressie was with the "new system". June 5-12. I agree with you about the displeasure part! This seems to penalize people who are staying longer! We usually come in on Saturday or Sunday to our DVC villas, but if we can start our vacation on Friday or Saturday before that in a resort room. It is bad enough that we are having to hold for EVER on our dime for this new system, but to have to call back twice because the system can't "see" me in there when I have a confirmed ressie and they are concurrent that really makes me

I actually got a little snippy with the CM and pretty much told her what you said about people with longer stays being penalized just because we wanted to split up our stays. She agreed and said that she hopes they reprogram this new system to recognize splits like the old way. She said that she has had many complaints already and expects more as all the kinks are worked out. I told her people are going to make less TS reservations if they have to keep calling back again and again, being put on hold forever just to make a dining reservation.

Well I make mine tomorrow...hopefully all of them! It does seem to be hit or miss on being able to do this.

I have reservations for 5/29-6/5, and then 6/5-6/13 both at Poly to get the 4/3 deal for both. I called the dining number at my 90 day mark for the first stay, and the CM tried everything she could to be able to book my ADR's for the next segment, but couldn't do it. The system just wouldn't allow her to do it. I had to call back 2 days later to get the others.

I was so bummed because I'm convinced that I had THE most amazing CM on the first call! I didn't want to let her go, and have to get through everything with a new one. The 2nd CM was okay, but definitely NOT like the first one. ;)

Weird how they do that - I hope there's a way to change it so that those of us booking split stays in the future can book all the dininig at one time.

I have had the same issue with ADR's. I was able to do the 90 + 10 for a one night stay starting on June 2 that had no DP attached to it. When I called the next day and tried to do an ADR for June 13 for stay starting on June 3 but checking out in the 5th that had the DP, it would not let me.

So I am possing a question for everyone. For the people that got there 90 + 10 ADRs with split stays, did you have the DP? As for the people that were denied ADRs for split stays, did you have the DP as well? My though is it is a computer error with DP and ADRs.

We have the Dining Plan, and had to call twice to get all of our ADR's for our split stay (technical split stay - we're at the same hotel, just on 2 separate reservations).

I have a split stay, but at the same resort. June 12th-13th reservation and 13th-19th reservation. I was told a couple times before that I could make them all at once. When my 90 day mark came for the 6/12 reservation, I was only able to make ADR's for June 12th & 13th. She spent a lot of time trying, but it wouldn't allow anything further. I had to call back the next day for the 14th-19th. I am not on the dining plan. I wouldn't count on only making one call.

We are not on the Dining plan and I had to make two calls for a split stay.

Well, we are on the regular DDP, and not DVC members. The only thing I can think that may have let us make the 1st eleven days days. We booked our first week with 10 days of park hopper and our 2nd week of our trip at a different resort but with a 1 day base ticket. Maybe that makes a difference.:confused3

No, because we also bought 10 days hoppers with the first part of our stay and room only the second part. The CM told me that it had to do with our check-out date. I just wish that they would put out a standard policy so that we wouldn't have to wonder why some could and others couldn't.

Update!!! We were able to do it!!!!!!
It took us 3 times to call back and get a different cm, but we finally got one that said "no problem" and was wonderful!
We made our adr's for the first part of our stay on the first 2 calls, but my dh & I were frustrated on not being able to make all of our adr's for the ENTIRE stay, so we sucked it up and tried one last time and voila! It worked!
In all we spent a little over 2 hours on the phone, but it is over and we got everything we wanted!!
These are some of the adr's we got (deluxe ddp)
Le Cellier...Sci-Fi....Cali Grill...1900 park fare...Crystal Palace...LTT...Flying Fish
Citricos...Narcoossees...Tutto...WCC...Chefs...and more!!:woohoo:

:cool1:for you!! I really do think that it is the CM and how well they can navigate the new system. to everyone trying to get their ADRs. I know that this is so frustrating! Good luck everyone!!!

What prompted us to call back was the second cm never stated the system wouldn't let her, but that it flagged in red that it was past our check out date for the first. My dh tried to get her to just try, but she wouldn't budge!

SondraC, thanks for posting your success. I have to make ADRs next month and have not been happy about this current news. We often go in a day or two early and then switch to our DVC resort, and I didn't want to have to call twice, nor did I want to wait for reservation #2 and miss out on the earlier days. I hope they get their act together. But if I do have the same issues, I will continue to try again.

Yes, keep calling back! Hopefully it will get more worked out as your window gets closer.

The more of these kinds of things I read about, the more I'm inclined to believe they should just go back to the old way of 90 days period. I remember the days of getting up every morning for a week and making one dining reservation. BUT it also meant I got what I wanted because I didn't have to worry about someone being able to book my first day of dining ten full days before me.

Now its going where some can do things that others cannot and its very annoying. I don't make mine until May and I too have a split stay, I hope they either get it fixed or move to the online ADRs so we don't have to sit on hold forever and a day.
