Hi everyone :flower3:

I've not posted on this board before but I'm after a bit of advice on making a wedding planning / scrapbook, where I can jot down all the ideas I have for planning our day and any photos / colour ideas etc that I get! I've never ever done anything like this before so thought now would be a good time to start! We aren't having a disney wedding but I love disney so want a bit of fun using disney bits and pieces throughout the book!

If anyone has done something like this before and has any pic's or help that would be amazing!!!

Thank you :thumbsup2

Hi! I made a wedding planning book but I wouldn't really call it a scrapbook. It was so convenient to have all of that information in one place! I still have the book, but unfortunately don't have any pictures. I used a 3-ring notebook and chose one that I thought was pretty (mine is purple and pink print) and I put our engagement picture on the first page. We had a Disney wedding and I made category tabs for the different sections using stuff I found at the office supply store. Using tabs helped because it kept everything very organized. As I remember I used these tabs:
- Gown - pictures of gowns I liked from magazines or printed from the Internet, as well as ideas for jewelry, hair, shoes, etc.
- Wedding Party - pictures of dresses I liked for my MOH and what I wanted DH and his best man to wear.
- Invitations - all the information about our invites, including the proofs from the printer, guest list, and for us a list of everyone we'd mail a separate announcement too.
- Ceremony - names and information about the different officiants and after we chose one, all of his contact information, cost, and the actual ceremony he would be saying all typed out.
- Reception - pictures of the style cake I wanted, information from Disney on what our cake would cost. Also information about our chocolate favors.
- Photos - a list of photos I really wanted and some ideas from bridal magazines for photo styles.
- Budget - our planned and actual budget. I used a budget maker on weddingplanning.com but that was about 4 years ago and I don't know if they still do that?
- Songs - the songs we wanted played for the ceremony and during our cake cutting reception. I printed out the lyrics of the Disney songs we had played.
- Scrapbook - I knew I'd be making a scrapbook of our wedding day (I've actually made 3!) so I put different ideas and samples of pages I liked.
- Articles - any wedding and marriage articles I came across that I really liked - I cut them out and put them in the book.
Then I had a Misc. section with any other items I didn't want to forget but didn't fit any other category.

It was fun to keep it updated and I still look at it from time to time, and I know I would have forgotten stuff without that book. Have fun and best wishes for your wedding day!

As you jot your notes, may I suggest that you also write down WHY you chose those things! We made a lot of choices about things for specific reasons and while the photo of the cake might look great it doesn't really explain that we chose yellow because it is my husband's favorite or that I finally settled on a dress when the shop owner said, "Close your eyes and imagine your wedding day...which dress are you wearing?" Your kids will appreciate it!
