Making 1st Res - advice?

Hello everyone. I'm calling today to make my first reservation as a new SSR "owner". I'm making them for next Sept for a two bedroom at SSR for myself, DW, DD4mo and DILs - so going for a two bedroom. I'm going to use points for S-Thur then want to pay cash for Friday - then going to Vero and would like to pay Cash for Saturday then use points S-Thur at Vero.

I know I can't make Vero reservations until Feb - which is fine.

Any suggestions on things to ask for, or what I should do for the SSR reservations?

I'm deathly allergic to smoke (allergy induced Asthma) so a non-smoke room is a must. Anything else I should know (room location, etc.) Also any advice on the Fri night stay? Think they'll have availability and be able to reserve it with the same transaction? Am I better off waiting for a better price? When do you have to pay for the cash room?

Any help is much appreciated.

P.S. bought SSR without even seeing it based on this board! And yes DW and I were married at the Pav and GF.... Amazing.

great idea on renting points - obvious next question - advice on renting points? How do I keep it simple but not get ripped off by someone (ala ebay scam)?
