I have read many posts talking about not wearing foundation and your typical makeup when in the world. I tried wearing a mineral powder when I was there and I was melty shortly after leaving the room. Many of you fabulous women recommend a tinted moisturizer and I am very interested. I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for good tinted moisturizers? I have never worn these and I don't have a clue where to start. Thanks!:lovestruc

I'm going without foundation/blush - just sunscreen for me. Probably will wear a little eyeliner and mascara. I figure it's useless to put on something that's going to be sweated off almost immediately! Plus I'm going to want to reapply sunscreen, mist my face, wipe off with a cool cloth, etc. frequently, so why bother! Besides, I don't know anybody there that I want to impress with the stunning beauty of my glorious made-up face!:cutie:

Honestly, if you are going in the summer, absolutely every single thing will melt off your face - and the last thing you need is a "moisterizer". If I have stuff I really want to cover (because let's face it - photos will be taken, saved forever, you may as well look decent), I'll take a little pack of blotting papers and a concealer stick of some kind (I like Almay and Maybelline's best for my relatively normal texture skin) and carry it with me into the park. I'll spend maybe 10-15 extra seconds in the bathroom sprucing up.

If my skin is fine, I go totally without anything but sunscreen. I'll wear waterproof mascara, a little eye primer (Urban Decay's is the BOMB) and some waterproof eyeliner pencil, lightly applied, with some sort of SP lip balm. Even those things will be a little sad by the time you are back in your room. ;)

I would def. use tinted moisturizer with spf. The right one, will keep you looking wonderful all day! Some good ones are, Laura Mercier: Tinted Moisturizer and Aveda: Inner Light Tinted Moisturizer. I would also wear lip gloss with spf. Sun burnt lips are not fun!!
good luck on your trip!:flower3:

I use facial sunscreen plus a "foundation stick" as concealer. I have way too much red in my skin not to use something on my red spots. My foundation stick is Revlon brand, about $7 -- it covers red really well and stays on great, but doesn't feel heavy.

Haven't had luck with mineral powder foundation myself, and tinted moisturizer doesn't provide me enough coverage.

The trick with the mineral powder foundation is all in the application........you have to have a primo brush and you really do have to buff it into your skin. Sometimes when I see someone applying it on tv, it looks like swish-swish & you're done. I went to a salon that carried BE and had them show me - THEN I really "got it" and have never used anything different since then. The first day I wore it, I could really feel air on my face when I went outside - I couldn't figure out what that weird feeling was! I had never been a heavy foundation wearer, but I could not believe the difference.

I dont bother with foundation. I use the Jergens tinted face lotion and it works very very well. I look like i have a nice glow on my face and dont need anything else except some eye makeup. Underneath you may want to put screen or maybe they make one with it already in it.

I do a full face, and never have had a problem with sweating it off in the Sept heat and humidity. It is all in the application

RMulieri, can you help those of us that are "makeup impaired"????? I know I would appreciate step by step instructions with brands if possible. Like the OP, I don't have much luck either. I was also thinking of switching too.:confused3

Love my BE....I switched just a few weeks before our WDW trip last Sept. and was so glad I did. After a long hot day in the parks, we would go to our resort to freshen up for our dinner ADR. Just a touch of lipstick and a swish of mineral veil and all set to go.
After I learned the whole BE application process.....I can apply my makeup in just a matter of minutes.
When my Mom saw me, after I started using BE, she said I looked younger and more refreshed than ever. The very next week we went shopping and she had a BE makeover at Sephoria. She purchased her starter kit that day and remains a loyal BE user.

I used the Mary Kay tinted moisturizer in June, and had no problems with it.

I start with sunscreen( neutrogena dry block you want something matte and not oily) I then use a primer( a teeny amount ..and I use Smashbox photo finish primer. You can also use Monistat anti-chafing gel located by Monitstat products......yes I am serious). I use Make up forever High definition foundation( it photographs ver y well and not with a white cast to it) applied with a slightly damp sponge( I use the beauty blender pink egg sponge but it is pricy..Target has a Sonia Kashuk Blue blending sponge that works equally well).I set with Make up forever HD powder. You can also use Revlon Colorstay foundation as well.Add bronzer or blush( I use bronzer from MAC).For eyes, I use an eyeshadow primer( I use urban decay Primer potion) and then a pale sparkly beige shadow all over ( I love Stila eyeshadow in kitten or Revlon khaki eye palette) .I use a darker eyeshadow as a liner underneath lower lashes only ( it doesn' t run or smear) ..Add some waterproof mascara( I like Maybelline great lash), a little lip gloss and done.I do carry Clean and Clear oil blotting sheets ( they remove oil not makeup), and blot usually around lunch time

i love clinique super city block spf 40 (something like that). I am very fair, it gives me great protection with a little bit of coverage

Another vote for BE!! Has anyone tried Makeup Forever, that I have heard is amazing but I have not tried it myself. They sell it at Sephora. Good Luck!!!!!

Yep ...I was a former BE user , now I use Makeup forever...Love the stuff.I liked BE but in all my pictures, I looked like a sweaty ,shiny mess even when it wasn't hot or humid out.I switched to MUFE High definition which is wonderful for pictures, and during the summer I like to use Face and Body foundation since it is a lighter coverage but buildable. Both are fantastic products, but HD is much better if you will be taking pics. They are both quite pricey though.$38-40 for a bottle, but you use little so it goes a long way.If you are interested you can either go to Sephora try out the colors and ask for a sample of it , or you can call the Makeup forever studio in NYC and request samples before you buy.

I live on the Lancome Bienfait tinted moisturizer with SPF 30. For me it lasts almost the whole day, even when it's hot and humid, it's just easier to put on a base moisturizer first. As for concealer that lasts Benefit's erase paste--I'm a total devotee. Then if I'm on vacation I just do a quick dusting of bronzer and mascara.

I do a full face every day at home, on vacation I try to go down to the bare essentials. Plus, if my luggage would be lost--I just know how much it would cost to repair my daily essentials. :rotfl: And I always pack the Clinique emergency acne gel. If I don't have it I'm bound to end up with several zits.

I just went in June and it was HOT! If you're looking for a good tinted moisturizer I would recommend the Laura Mercier oil free type. It lasts pretty much all day. However, when I was there this summer I used a primer before putting on Max Factor touch proof foundation and then sealed it with some powder. It worked really well for me. We were in the parks from 8 til midnight everyday and I never had to do a touch-up, even with sweat and water rides. The foundation is very light weight, so it never felt sticky or cakey and the primer and powder really kept it from melting off. Also, if you're doing eye make-up then definitely go for waterproof mascara and eyeliner...again, it stays on through the sweat and water rides. I would also recommend bringing a pack of oil blotting sheets or a travel sized can of the Evian facial spray to refresh you. Good luck!

I am a makeup junkie and given the number of photopass pictures we do, I do my makeup every day in Disney. We do generally go off season so that helps. I'm putting some links since it's hard to find some of these if you don't know what you are looking for. Here's what I do:

Eyes: MAC paint as a primer in untitled. Covers dark lids and holds shadow forever. All day sweating and my eyes are PERFECT at the end of the day. I sweat from my head and have allergy eyes so this is a testament to the product.

MAC shadows on top - I like to always have my eyes done so I vary my colors. I carry on all of my makeup - always have - in case it is lost it is too expensive to replace.

Liner - MAC Liquidlast liner. This stuff does not come off. You have to take it off with eye makeup remover - wet, dry, sweat, you name it - the stuff is amazing. I wear black and have also tried brown.

Mascara - I use different mascaras depending on my mood - lately it's max factor.

Foundation - MAC Studio Fix Powder Plus. It is powder and goes on smooth and doesn't sweat off my face.

Blush - also MAC.

I throw on lipstick on the way in for the first picture but don't usually bother to reapply.
