Majors?

Hey all,

what are some good majors suggested if you want to possibly work for the company. I am a business major currently.

The Walt Disney Company hires all types of people from artists to lawyers to nurses. So it depends on what interests you.

If you just want a part-time role in the parks, majors don't matter.

So for Imagineering that requires engineering. Cosmetology to work in costume design on their internships. People doing the international internship I was on we had world business and such degrees. But they do hire from all walks. Whats your dream role? If its getting kids onto Its a Small World degree will give you an edge potentially but not required for that. if you want into corporate business is a great degree to go for. Business would also be good for management positions but a lot of management positions I find they fill with people who started at the bottom excelled did a leadership casting call and worked their way up

My dream is to work for Disney or Pixar as an animator, therefore I am majoring in Digital Arts! Also considering going to an art school in Orlando to focus specifically on animation. I'm hoping to do the DCP in spring of 2017 and possibly again after graduating to get my foot in the door. Then hopefully get accepted to a professional internship and work my way up.

The best part about Disney is that you can be in almost any field and find employment with them. Pick a major based on what you want, and you'll find it relates to working with Disney somehow.

I think Business is a good major, and I bet many Disney employees have studied that. Some other common ones for a theme park environment are Culinary, Hospitality, and Communications. For corporate, maybe Animation, Illustration, Education, Accounting, Marketing, etc. A good way to explore is to run a job search and see what the qualifications for each opening are. Find some that appeal to you and start learning the skills needed to work in those roles.
