major spam storm - smtp mail failed

Has anyone else seen a recent jump in spam over the last 48 hours or so? I don't filter, just virus scan, so I see them all and there have been bunches. All are either smtp mail failed, your_password, and new email address notices.

They seem to be coming to an address I've been able to keep relatively clean. Bummer.

YES!!! I work in a school system and once I logged on this morning I had 66 emails and then they kept coming all day long. I think I deleted over 120 just before 2:30 today. With the holiday here now I dread seeing how many I have by Monday!!!!

I got two yesterday, to an email address I have had for 2 years and NEVER received any kind of spam or junk mail to before. Ran a manual Mcafee scan and it did find a virus (which is now deleted).

I saw a number of those also...they came to my hotmail account. Thank goodness for junk filters

Another variant of the Sober virus is making it's rounds. Remember, there's a good chance that someone you know has the virus now, as your email address was harvested somewhere along the line by a copy of the virus.

I have gotten quite a few.................I clicked on one but did not open the attachment???? Now I just delete them from my junk mail folder!!! I hope I did not get infected by a computer virus or such!!
